Overview
Situated in the spectacular Atlas Mountains in Morocco,
the award-winning Kasbah Tamadot was bought by Sir Richard Branson
during one of his famous ballooning expeditions. To the north extends a
steep river valley with sheer rocky limestone and forested mountains,
contrasting with the view of the snow-capped peaks of the Atlas
Mountains on the southern side. To the east, across the river, you can
see the traditional Berber village of Tansghart built into the side of
the mountain. Kasbah Tamadot employs local Berber staff from the
surrounding villages, giving guests a sense of staying in a Moroccan
home rather than a hotel.
Accommodation
Kasbah Tamadot is
filled with staircases, courtyards and gardens. Getting yourself
orientated may take a while but worth every step. A stay with us is like
a stay in your very own Moroccan home and the feeling you get on
arrival is hard to beat so you?ll just need to keep coming back.
Bedrooms & Bathrooms
We
have 27 bedrooms and suites including nine luxury Berber Tents, some of
which have private plunge pools. All are individually decorated using
traditional Moroccan furnishings and antiques, as well as items from the
vast collection of Luciano Tempo, Kasbah Tamadot's former owner. As a
renowned antiques dealer and interior designer, Luciano brought together
artefacts from all over the world, many of which feature in the
bedrooms. Each room has a uniquely descriptive Berber name which tells
you something about it.
Superior Room (x3): 30-36 sqm
We
have three Superior rooms, one looks out over the front courtyard, the
other into an interior courtyard and the third forms part of the three
bedroom Master Suite and has a large terrace and spectacular views over
the Atlas Mountains. The Superior Room in the Master Suite can only be
booked separately within 2 months prior to arrival.
Deluxe Room (x7): 31-33 sqm
All
seven Deluxe Rooms have a balcony or terrace. One of the Deluxe Rooms
forms part of the Master Suite and interconnects with the Deluxe Suite
with pool (Kasbah Tamadot's only interconnecting room). All Deluxe Rooms
have a garden, pool or mountain view, the smaller the room in this
category the better the view.
Superior Suite (x4): 34-44 sqm
All
four Superior Suites offer a private balcony or terrace and are
typically larger in size than the Deluxe Rooms, again the smaller the
room in this category the better the view. Our Superior Suites have a
sitting area and are more private, they can also accommodate a roll away
bed for 1 child.
Deluxe Suite (x3): 35-50 sqm
Of the
rooms in the main building our three Deluxe Suites occupy the premium
locations for views of the valley and Atlas Mountains. Larger in size
and with a sitting room, the smaller the suite in this category the
better the view. These Suites can accommodate a roll away bed for 1
child.
Deluxe Suite with pool (x1): 50 sqm
Offering
wonderful uninterrupted views of the Atlas Mountains, this room is
located on the ground floor of The Master Suite and has its own private
pool with a large terrace, sun loungers, table and chairs. With a
separate living room, floor to ceiling windows and patio doors leading
out to the pool terrace, this room can only be booked separately within 2
months prior to arrival.
Berber Tent (x4): 55 sqm
The 4
new tented suites are perched on the hillside with stunning views
across the Atlas Mountain range and the valley below. Each tent features
a king-size bed, large bathtubs for soaking while you gaze over the
mountains, a terrace, sun loungers and outdoor dining.
Berber Tent with private jacuzzi (x5): 65 sqm
Perched
on the hillside overlooking a pretty valley below, the five Berber
Tented Suites offer stunning views of the Atlas Mountains. Five of the
suites are located a short stroll through the herb and vegetable garden
and all have views of Mount Toubkal, the Atlas' highest peak. All are
perfect for those looking for a little more luxury adventure. Each tent
features a king-size bed, large bathtubs for soaking while you gaze over
the mountains, a terrace with private jaccuzi, sun loungers and outdoor
dining.
Master Suite (3 bedrooms) (x1): 112 sqm
The
Master Suite is a miniature version of The Kasbah sitting out on a
promontory and featuring three special rooms. Located near the glorious
infinity pool the master suite more is ideal for families and features
three bedrooms, a terrace and a private swimming pool. The building
itself is rich in architectural detail and affords complete privacy.
Within there is a Deluxe Room and a Deluxe Suite at the lower level with
a private pool, both generously laid out. These rooms can interconnect.
On the upper floor is a compact Superior Room with a huge roof terrace.
This configuration is perfect for a larger party, or those seeking a
true escape and complete privacy.
In your room you can find a
well-stocked mini bar, bottled water, safety deposit box, radio/CD
player, CDs, Bose iPod station, hairdryer, hair straighteners, plug
adapters, umbrellas, sunhats, Moroccan slippers (called Babouches) that
you?re welcome to take with you when you leave, and big windows for
those amazing views. Hypoallergenic pillows and duvets are available
from Reception on request as well as mattress toppers for extra padding
to ensure a perfect night's sleep. All rooms have air-conditioning and
heating. If you fancy watching a bit of TV tucked up snugly in your robe
with your Babouches and a glass of something bubbly, we'll be happy to
bring one to you, or for those lucky enough to be staying in a Berber
Tented Suite, one will be waiting in your room. The TVs come with a DVD
player too so you can borrow one of the DVDs from our selection. If you
want to chill out to your own tunes in your room, you can borrow one of
our iPod Sound Docks. They are compatible with most iPods apart from the
iPod Shuffle. We also have iPod leads in all guest rooms.

They're very intelligent, patient and loyal to their owners.
