Overview
If you are looking for a large, comfortable and spacious villa just a few hundred metres from the ocean, then Villa Asante is the place for you. Our four-bedroom home is amply equipped with staff, facilities and comforts to ensure a most restful stay, including butlers, a private chef, 13 x 10.5-metre swimming pool and separate kids pool, lavish ensuite bathrooms, king-sized beds and plenty of places to relax. Bask in the sunshine and work on your tan, or take the shady option and stretch out in our poolside bale, large enough for six or more and scenically positioned alongside the large lawn.
Drifting between the villa's comfortable living areas is easy with the two open-air pavilions positioned immediately adjacent to the pool and cooled by ceiling fans and natural breezes. One is for dining, and other for reclining, watching TV or selecting some reading material from the large assortment of magazines and books. For serious TV or movie sessions, lock yourselves away in our upstairs media lounge in front of the big-screen television with the added joy of large soft sofas and the cool comforts of air conditioning.
For the kids, there's an assortment of games, pool toys, table tennis, badminton and volleyball sets as well as an Xbox in the TV lounge. We even created a 10 x 2 x 0.3-metre paddling pool so they can happily splash about all day. Weddings and special events are also one of our specialties and we can cater up to large groups of up to 125.

Accommodation
Villa Asante is a study in symmetry, comprising three buildings, a 13 x 10.5-metre swimming pool and a large bale relaxation pavilion. The main two-storey building incorporates a furnished entrance foyer, the four ensuite bedrooms and an air-conditioned media room, bordered by terraces and a wide balcony. Two shingle-roofed, open-sided pavilions either side of the pool house the living room, the dining area and a bright fitted kitchen. Beyond the pool and the comfortable bale relaxation pavilion are the generous walled gardens and large lawn ? a perfect playground for kids and a sublime setting for special celebrations.
Bedrooms & Bathrooms
Master bedrooms
Positioned downstairs, with terraces at their fronts, the two master bedrooms are furnished with king-size beds, and equipped with air-conditioning, ceiling fans, and satellite-channel TV/DVD players. The generously sized master bathrooms feature courtyard gardens planted with travellers' palms and shrubs. When the glass doors are opened the bathrooms become one with nature. Each is fitted with a bathtub and two showers, one indoors, and one offering an alfresco showering experience.
Guest bedrooms
One of the upstairs, air-conditioned guest bedrooms is furnished with a king-size bed and the other with twins (convertible to a king). Trundle beds, providing extra sleeping space for two children roll out from under the twin bed frames. Each guest bedroom is equipped with a satellite-channel TV/DVD player. Sliding glass doors open on to a wide balcony, presenting lovely views of the garden. Featuring non-slip acid marble floors, each stylish ensuite bathroom is fitted with a walk-in rainshower.
Living & Dining Areas
Living pavilion
The living pavilion presents tropical living at its very best. Open on three sides, with a cream terrazzo floor under a soaring shingle roof, the pavilion is illuminated by mood lighting, adorned with colourful artwork, cooled by natural breezes and ceiling fans, and furnished with deeply cushioned sofas. Hidden behind cupboard doors is a 42-inch satellite-channel TV and DVD player together with a Bose sound system.
Dining pavilion
Stepping stones across the pool link the living pavilion with the dining pavilion and kitchen. The spacious dining area is cooled by ceiling fans and furnished with a teakwood dining table for 12. Adjacent is a white, open-plan designer kitchen linked to the dining area by a wide service bar complete with bar chairs where guests can sip an aperitif while they watch the chef at work.
TV room
Villa Asante's TV room serves many functions: it can be a cosy and quiet escape, a place for the kids to play games, or for the family to watch a movie in air-conditioned comfort, or as an extra bedroom for kids. Positioned centrally upstairs, the room is furnished with deeply upholstered sofas (which can double as extra beds), and equipped with a 42-inch TV with satellite channels and a DVD player.

Staff & Services
One of the greatest advantages of staying in a villa is the personalised service provided by dedicated staff. The staff team at Villa Asante are professionally trained and will do their utmost to please with their warm and friendly Balinese hospitality. Staff can be reached via the villa's internal phone system. Offices for the manager and chef are completely separate from the guest areas to ensure privacy.
Villa manager
Our friendly manager, Made (pronounced ma-day) has been at Asante since 2008 and can tell you everything you could possibly need to know about the villa and its surrounds. He is responsible for the overall operation of the villa, overseeing and co-ordinating the staff, and assisting guests during their stay. He also speaks impeccable English.
Assistant manager
Made is ably supported by his assistant manager to ensure the smooth running of the villa at all times.
Chef
The villa's skilled private chef will happily prepare anything from the Western, Asian, vegetarian and children's suggestion menus, as well as discuss special requests and dietary requirements.
Butlers and housekeeping
The four butlers are on hand to wait upon guests' every need and their duties also include daily housekeeping and domestic duties.
Garden and pool
A gardener looks after Asante's lush gardens and the pool is regularly cleaned and maintained.
Security
Two security guards provide night-time security from their post at the main gate.
Pool & SPA
The 13 x 10.50m swimming pool includes a shallow area that forms a T-shape separating the living and dining pavilions. Beside the pool is a timber sundeck and a big, open-sided bale relaxation pavilion with a cushioned floor.
For the children, a 10 x 2 x 0.3m paddling pool so they can happily splash about all day.
Location
Villa Asante is located in a popular rural beachside area, about 500 metres from the lively Echo Beach, where there?s a wide choice of funky boutiques, delis, cafes and international restaurants.
Canggu (2km) is fast evolving into Bali's hippest beachside scene. Here, you can enjoy a laidback vibe and plenty of activities: rustic restaurants serving healthy cuisine and freshly squeezed juices, coffee shops and burger joints, seafood cafes, cool bars and vibrant live music venues, a dance school, surf schools and yoga studios, a chocolate shop, two sports centres including the Canggu Club, numerous spas and beauty lounges, convenience stores and some chic beachwear boutiques.

Activities
Villa Asante's manager will have a wealth of information about nearby places of interest and will help arrange transport and make any bookings required. Do also ask the staff about the local area. Many of them live nearby and will be able to give an interesting insight into some of the fascinating aspects of Bali life.
In the meantime, here is a taste of the many and varied activities on offer within reach of the villa.
- Villa Asante is close to the famous temple at Tanah Lot (11km), although in peak season a few too many tourists may transform a sunset visit into more of a heaving photo opportunity than a moving experience. Visiting early in the morning (8-9am) provides a better idea of the power of the location and the chance to see it undisturbed apart from perhaps an offering ceremony.
- A nice sunset alternative is to head down to Echo Beach (500m) where a number of cafes offer good sunset views and cold beer. Note that the beach here is dark sand and the waters are better suited to surfing, having a pronounced swell and rip, rather than children's swimming.
- Fashionistas, trendies and shop-a-holics should hot-foot it down to Seminyak, Bali's most cosmopolitan enclave. Here, you can indulge for hours in the glut of stylish, chic boutiques. There is a wide choice of fine dining, mid range, and cheap ?n cheerful restaurants in Seminyak too: fine dining venues include Sarong, the famous Ku Dé Ta, Mama San, La Lucciola, ?Petitenget', Old Mans, Merah Putih, Sardine and Métis.
- Play a round at the unbelievably scenic Nirwana Bali Golf Course. Bordered by ocean and rice fields and just down from Tanah Lot sea temple, no wonder this championship-standard course (designed by golf legend, Greg Norman) is frequently voted number one in Asia.
- Drive westwards to explore the charming Tabanan regency, revealing terraced rice fields of emerald green, volcanic mountains and black-sand beaches dotted with fishing communities. Or head north to explore the volcanic lakes near the mountain town of Bedugul, including Lake Bratan with its photogenic and stunningly positioned Pura Ulun Danu ? one of Bali's most important temples.
- Covering 3.8 hectares of tropical parkland in Kuta, Waterbom Bali has 16 water slides (including The Climax with its 360 degree loop) to entertain the young and the young at heart. A great family day out, but go early to beat the crowds.
- Bali Treetop Adventure Park is near the town of Bedugal in northern central Bali (next to Lake Bratan). Five adventure circuits, with heights ranging from two to 20 metres, challenge all level and ages on suspended bridges, spider nets, Tarzan jumps and 12 flying foxes.
- Explore the scenic rice-field landscape and rural villages; a great way to get under the skin of the 'real' Bali. Stop off at a local warung (café) to sample some basic Balinese fare or cool off with a cold drink.

Additional Notes
Families
The family friendly advantages of a villa holiday are many, including access to your own private facilities and the freedom to use them whenever you want. Villa Asante has been designed very much with families in mind. Convertible sofas in the TV lounge can accommodate extra children, while the twin bedded room also contains two handy trundle beds. There are games and puzzles, a table tennis table, DVDs, books, pool toys and an Xbox to keep kids entertained for hours. There's also a good-sized lawn for them to run around on and a special shallow area in the pool.Knowing that the kids can run around happily, independently and safely, without you having to worry about other guests, is a real plus ? and one that means parents are certain to have a more relaxed holiday too.
The team of friendly staff at Villa Asante will make children feel as welcome as adults, and having these willing helpers on hand gives guests plenty of flexibility and freedom to do their own exploring beyond the villa grounds (full-time babysitting incurs a small extra cost).
Although the equipped kitchen allows you to prepare meals for fussy eaters or babies with ease, staff will happily to do this for you ? just talk through your requirements and meal schedules with the villa manager or chef and they will take care of the rest. Pancakes by the pool for breakfast? Toasted sandwiches in the TV room? No problem. The chef can customise all meals to suit children's taste buds.

Dining
Villa Asante's private chef is at your service to prepare daily breakfast (included in the villa rate), lunch and dinner from a suggestion menu of Western and Asian dishes including vegetarian and children's options, as well some special Balinese delicacies. The chef can also tailor meals to suit guests' needs and is happy to accommodate your preferences and cater to special dietary requirements.Dinner parties, functions, and special orders can all be catered for, and meals can be anything from a simple snack to a poolside barbeque, or a grand banquet ? the famous Balinese babi guling (spit-roast pig) or roast duck is recommended, but should be ordered in advance. Food and drinks are purchased in well-stocked supermarkets and gourmet delicatessens, or in the local markets.
Groceries and beverages are charged at cost price plus a 20% handling fee which is subject to service charge and government tax. Guests will be requested to provide grocery money in advance, and the staff will do the shopping and keep the receipts for reference. To make the most of the kitchen and give staff time to shop, it is a good idea to plan meals with the staff the evening before.
Spa
Feel like a body scrub or massage? Just ask our staff to bring the spa to you! We can recommend deluxe treatments carried out in the privacy of the villa by fully trained therapists from a reputable local spa (extra charges will apply). Here's a sample of what's on the menu:Massage
Release built up tension with a traditional Balinese massage by the pool or in the relaxation balé. Using a combination of gentle stretches, acupressure and aromatherapy oils to stimulate the flow of blood, oxygen and energy around your body, you will feel totally relaxed in no time.
Foot reflexology
Foot reflexology is a natural healing art based on the principle that there are reflexes in the feet which correspond to every part of the body. Through application of pressure on these reflexes tension is relieved and circulation improved leaving you feeling balanced.
Body scrub
A full body scrub will exfoliate and hydrate your skin leaving it soft and smooth. A rejuvenating scrub combines an abrasive material such as salt, coffee, rice bran or pecan hulls with essential oils to remove any impurities and make your skin glow.
Manicure/pedicure
Our hands and feet work hard for us every day but rarely get the attention they deserve. Treat them to a manicure or pedicure, which usually comes with the added bonus of a quick hand or foot massage.

Canggu Club
As well as having access to their own exclusive leisure facilities at the villa, guests also benefit from complimentary guest membership at Bali's premier private members club, The Canggu Club, for the duration of their stay.This family-orientated club luxuriates across 4,000 square metres of land in amongst the picturesque rice fields of Canggu. Upgraded in 2014, sporting facilities at the club are world-class and include a large, well-equipped gym with separate studios for aerobics, (spinning) bicycles and boxing, as well as a 25-metre swimming pool, a floodlit professionally turfed sports field, a tennis centre with three undercover tennis courts and an indoor multi-sports hall for basketball and badminton.
The Cubby House Kids Club* for 2-12 year olds offers a huge range of quality toys and activities to keep children entertained for hours, whilst the slides at the all-new Splash Water Park, set amidst the club's lush tropical gardens, take fun to a whole new level.
