If you're looking for a versatile, out-of-town villa, close to the beach, with plenty of family-friendly facilities, yet also ideal for groups of friends or for weddings and events, then our beautiful, contemporary-styled holiday home could be just the villa for you.
We describe Villa Canggu as versatile because it is actually two villas in one: the main four-bedroom Villa Canggu South complete with its 20-metre swimming pool can be rented independently or in conjunction with sister Villa Canggu North, offering two more bedrooms, an additional living and dining area and an second swimming pool.
We pride ourselves on being family friendly with plenty of facilities for children including a kiddies' pool. At the same time, we think groups of adult friends will enjoy the sophisticated architecture and décor, relish the luxuriously comfortable and spacious rooms, and be captivated our private collection of artwork, which includes paintings, installations and murals by some renowned Indonesian artists.
Canggu is a once-sleepy village now fast evolving as the hippest beachside scene in Bali with a great choice of cafés, a few boutiques, spas galore, and activities including a surf school, yoga venues and a dance school. Our villa lies on the borders of Canggu in a quiet, close-to-the-beach location with the inclusive service of a car and driver should you wish to explore further afield.
Our friendly team of full time staff, which includes a villa manager, personal butlers and a superb chef, make it likely that you will never want to leave.
Accommodation
Villa Canggu South comprises a two-storey building situated in a walled garden with a flat lawn, a 20-metre pool, and an open-sided stand-alone dining pavilion. The villa is entered by a wide flight of steps leading up to an expansive living and dining room with a bar. Above this is a small mezzanine area, accessed via a spiral staircase; glass doors from the mezzanine open to a balcony. On the ground floor are two bedrooms, including the master suite; two more bedrooms are situated on the upper level alongside the living and dining room. All four bedrooms are equipped with air-conditioning, 21-inch satellite-channel TVs, DVD players, iPod docks, and safe deposit boxes.
Bedrooms & Bathrooms
Master suite
Situated on the ground floor, Villa Canggu South's master suite provides every comfort and luxury, including a king-size bed, sofa, mirrored wardrobes and desk. Sliding glass doors open to a terrace bordered by bulrushes, while the glamorous marble bathroom is fitted with a sunken jacuzzi bathtub for two and a walk-in rain shower.
Guest suites
The ground-floor guest suite is furnished with twin beds that convert to a king, a comfy sofa and a hand-painted cherry tree mural which makes a peaceful scene to wake up to. The ensuite Palimanan stone bathroom is fitted with a large circular soaking tub for two and a walk-in shower.
The two upstairs guest suites are each furnished with king-size beds, desks and ottomans, and decorated with colourful artwork. Lucky guests in the front bedroom can enjoy the additional space provided by a large stone balcony overlooking the pool and garden. Each guest suite is adjoined by a Palimanan stone bathroom equipped with a walk-in rain shower.
Living & Dining Areas
Indoor living
A magnificent living and dining room lies at the core of Villa Canggu South, accessed by a grand flight of stone steps leading up from the pool terrace. As soon as the glass doors are opened the room is filled with cool sea breezes; closing the doors gives the option of air-conditioned comfort. The compelling artwork here will keep guests fascinated for hours.
At one end of the room is a living area, furnished with a segmented sofa and equipped with a 60-inch satellite TV, DVD player and quality sound system, while at the other is a bar and dining area furnished with a polished granite dining table that comfortably seats eight people. A staircase provides access to the professional service kitchen.
A spiral staircase extends from the living area up to a unique chill-out mezzanine ?reading room' located at roof level. Here, glass doors open to a veranda, which is cooled by sea breezes, offers views of the ocean and is the perfect spot for a sunset cocktail.
Outdoor living
The walled garden of the villa features a flat lawn and a 20-metre lap pool, with a waterfall at one end and a children's pool at the other. The pool is adorned by many other small waterfalls and fountains. A sun deck, furnished with loungers and umbrellas, runs the length of the pool and on the opposite side is the alfresco dining pavilion soothed by the sound of the waterfall and furnished with a dining table and bench seats.

Staff & Services
One of the greatest advantages of staying in a villa is the personalised service provided by a dedicated team of staff. Villa Canggu's staff have been professionally trained and will do their utmost to please with their warm and friendly Balinese hospitality. The staff can be reached via the villa's internal phone system.
Villa manager
Villa's Canggu's friendly manager has worked at the property since 2006 and knows everything there is to know about the villa and its surrounding area. He is responsible for the overall operation of the villa and his job is to oversee and coordinate the staff and property and to assist guests during their stay. He also speaks impeccable English.
Chef
The villa's skilled private chef will happily prepare anything from the Western, Asian, vegetarian and children's priced menus, as well as discuss special requests and dietary requirements.
Butlers
The villa's butlers are on hand to take care of their guests' every need. Their duties also include daily housekeeping and domestic chores.
Garden staff
A gardener maintains Villa Canggu's lush gardens and a man comes in as often as necessary to maintain the swimming pool.
Security
A security guard provides night-time security from the main gate.

Location
Villa Canggu sits 100 metres from the beach in a local village neighbourhood. A few hundred metres in either direction along the beach will bring you to some popular beach bars and small restaurants, especially popular around sunset time. Check out Old Man's restaurant, bar and live music venue a short walk up the beach to the south-west, as well as the well-known Echo Beach for daily barbecues and Sunday-night live music. If you are interested in learning to surf, High Tide Surf School (for kids and adults) is situated just five minutes' walk up the beach at Batu Bolong. Nelayan Beach immediately in front of the villa is also popular with surfers.

Activities
Villa Canggu's manager will have a wealth of information about nearby places of interest and will help arrange transport and make any bookings required. Do also ask the staff about the local area. Many of them live nearby and will be able to give an interesting insight into some of the fascinating aspects of Bali life.
In the meantime, here is a taste of the many and varied activities on offer within reach of the villa.
- Villa Canggu is close to the famous temple at Tanah Lot, although in peak season a few too many tourists may transform a sunset visit into more of a heaving photo opportunity than a moving experience. Visiting early in the morning (8-9am) provides a better idea of the power of the location and the chance to see it undisturbed apart from perhaps an offering ceremony.
- A nice sunset alternative is to head down to Echo Beach where a number of cafes offer good sunset views and cold beer. Note that the beach here is dark sand and the waters are better suited to surfing, having a pronounced swell and rip, rather than children's swimming. Hotel Tugu, a very stylish and eclectic boutique hotel on the coast, a few minutes closer to the villa, is also a good sunset spot.
- Fashionistas, trendies and shop-a-holics should hot-foot it down to Seminyak, Bali's most cosmopolitan enclave. Here, you can indulge for hours in the glut of stylish, chic boutiques. There is a wide choice of fine dining, mid range, and cheap ?n cheerful restaurants in Seminyak too: fine dining venues include Sarong, the famous Ku Dé Ta, Mama San, La Lucciola, Merah Putih, Sardine and Métis.
- Play a round at the unbelievably scenic Nirwana Bali Golf Course. Bordered by ocean and rice fields and just down from Tanah Lot sea temple, no wonder this championship-standard course (designed by golf legend, Greg Norman) is frequently voted number one in Asia.
- Drive westwards to explore the charming Tabanan regency, revealing terraced rice fields of emerald green, volcanic mountains and black-sand beaches dotted with fishing communities. Or head north to explore the volcanic lakes near the mountain town of Bedugul, including Lake Bratan with its photogenic and stunningly positioned Pura Ulun Danu ? one of Bali's most important temples.
- Covering 3.8 hectares of tropical parkland in Kuta, Waterbom Bali has 16 water slides (including The Climax with its 360 degree loop) to entertain the young and the young at heart. A great family day out, but go early to beat the crowds.
- Bali Treetop Adventure Park is near the town of Bedugal in northern central Bali (next to Lake Bratan). Five adventure circuits, with heights ranging from two to 20 metres, challenge all level and ages on suspended bridges, spider nets, Tarzan jumps and 12 flying foxes.
- Explore the scenic rice-field landscape and rural villages; a great way to get under the skin of the ?real' Bali. Stop off at a local warung (café) to sample some basic Balinese fare or cool off with a cold drink.
- Have a go at riding the local ponies at Bali Equestrian Center. See the beaches and beautiful landscapes of Bali from a different perspective.
Services included
Daily breakfast and exclusive use of the villa and all its facilities, including the services of a staff team including villa manager, chef, villa attendants. Airport transfers free and a car and driver is available at a special rate of USD25++/day for 8 hours (excluding petrol) for guest use.

Families
The family friendly advantages of a villa holiday are many, including access to your own private facilities and the freedom to use them whenever you want. Villa Canggu has been designed very much with children in mind. Three of the rooms have twin beds, which can be converted to kings if preferred, and for entertainment there's a table tennis table, DVDs, books, kids' pool, pool toys as well as a good-sized lawn to play on.Knowing that the kids can run around happily, independently and safely, without you having to worry about other guests, is a real plus ? and one that means parents are certain to have a more relaxed holiday too.
The team of friendly staff at Villa Canggu will make children feel as welcome as adults, and having these willing helpers on hand gives guests plenty of flexibility and freedom to do their own exploring beyond the villa (full-time babysitting incurs a small extra cost).
Although the equipped kitchen allows you to prepare meals for fussy eaters or babies with ease, staff will happily to do this for you ? just talk through your requirements and meal schedules with the villa manager or chef and they will take care of the rest. Pancakes by the pool for breakfast? Toasties for tea? No problem. The chef can customise all meals to suit children's taste buds.

Dining
Your personal chef at Villa Canggu is at your service to prepare daily breakfast, lunch and dinner. Breakfast is included in the villa rate while all other snacks and meals can be ordered from a priced menu offering a wide array of Western and Asian, vegetarian and children's dishes. The chef is also happy to tailor meals to suit special requests and dietary needs. Off-menu items are charged at cost price plus a 30% surcharge, tax and service.Meals can be a simple affair, a poolside barbecue, or a grand banquet according to your whims. We recommend that you try some of the chef's special Indonesian and Balinese dishes for a true cultural experience.
Spa Services & Gym
Feel like a body scrub or massage? Just ask our staff to bring the spa to you! We can recommend deluxe treatments carried out in the privacy of the villa by fully trained therapists from a reputable local spa (extra charges will apply). Here's a sample of what's on the menu:Massage
Release built-up tension with a traditional Balinese massage beside the pool or in the privacy of your bedroom. Using a combination of gentle stretches, acupressure and aromatherapy oils to stimulate the flow of blood, oxygen and energy around your body you will feel totally relaxed in no time.
Foot reflexology
Foot reflexology is a natural healing art based on the principle that there are reflexes in the feet which correspond to every part of the body. Through application of pressure on these reflexes tension is relieved and circulation improved leaving you feeling balanced.
Body scrub
A full body scrub will exfoliate and hydrate your skin leaving it soft and smooth. A rejuvenating scrub combines an abrasive material such as salt, coffee, rice bran or pecan hulls with essential oils to remove any impurities and make your skin glow.
Manicure/pedicure
Our hands and feet work hard for us every day but rarely get the attention they deserve. Treat them to a manicure or pedicure, which usually comes with the added bonus of a quick hand or foot massage.
The Canggu Club
As well as having access to their own exclusive leisure facilities at the villa, guests also benefit from complimentary guest membership at Bali's premier private members club, The Canggu Club, for the duration of their stay.This family-orientated club luxuriates across 4,000 square metres of land in amongst the picturesque rice fields of Canggu. Upgraded in 2014, sporting facilities at the club are world-class and include a large, well-equipped gym with separate studios for aerobics, (spinning) bicycles and boxing, as well as a 25-metre swimming pool, a floodlit professionally turfed sports field, a tennis centre with three undercover tennis courts and an indoor multi-sports hall for basketball and badminton.
The Cubby House Kids Club* for 2-12 year olds offers a huge range of quality toys and activities to keep children entertained for hours, whilst the slides at the all-new Splash Water Park, set amidst the club's lush tropical gardens, take fun to a whole new level.
