Bali
Bali Island of the Gods is located between Java and Lombok. It is part
of the Lesser Sunda Islands. Its area is 5637 km ², which corresponds to
an average size of about 80/120 km. Its population is approximately
3,000,000 people. It forms a province whose main city is Denpasar.
Like
many parts of Indonesia, Bali is characterized by the beauty of its
landscapes, climate, and the originality of its culture.
The island is the main destination of Tourism in Indonesia.
Bali
is crossed from east to west by a volcanic chain which includes several
peaks over 2,000 meters above sea level, and many active volcanoes,
including the famous Gunung Agung rising to over 3140 m.
The volcanic
nature of the earth contributes to an exeptionnelle fertility, regular
rainfall and high relief irrigate the beautiful rice terraces network.
