Master bedrooms

The villa boasts two master bedrooms set privately away from the main house. Both of these spacious king-bedded rooms have their own plunge pool, a furnished outdoor living area, an indoor lounge room with satellite television, DVD player and iPod docks as well as enormous ensuite bathrooms featuring indoor and outdoor shower and bath.

Guest bedroom 1

This ground floor bedroom, accessed via a hallway of merbau-wood shutters, has twin beds, making it ideal for families (the beds can also be conveniently joined together to form a king). The room is equipped with a television, DVD player, and features marble floors, a dressing area and sliding doors which lead, via a small dressing area, to an ensuite bathroom with sunken granite bathtub and shower.

Guest bedroom 2

On the other side of the hallway, also accessed via a shuttered walkway, lies the second guest bedroom which features a king-size bed, writing desk with lovely views overlooking palm trees, television, DVD player, marble floors and sliding doors which open onto a wooden deck overlooking the swimming pool and garden, and offering the best sunrise views. The bathroom is accessed by sliding doors via a small dressing area and features a sunken granite bathtub and a shower.

Guest bedrooms 3 and 4

The two first-floor guest bedrooms are accessed via a wooden staircase. Guest bedroom 3 is also furnished with twin beds that can be joined together to make a king, while guest bedroom 4 has a king-size bed. Both rooms are equipped with a television, DVD player, dressing room and ensuite bathroom with sunken bathtub and shower. Bedroom 3 has a wooden deck surrounded by stunning bougainvillea and with views over the rice paddies, while bedroom 4?s deck is furnished with a daybed and boasts glorious ocean views.

Indoor living

Bayu Gita has plenty of indoor living areas where you can either relax and take in the views or be entertained. The living room has a traditional pitched rattan roof and is surrounded by glass doors, which can be opened to allow guests to luxuriate on the comfortable sofas, cooled by sea breezes. More glass doors in the dining room slide open to create a lovely sense of space, while a stunning teak table for 14 overlooks a hanging wall garden.

There?s no better place to catch up on the latest movies than Bayu Gita's state-of-the-art 10-seat cinema. Relax in air-conditioned comfort on the leather couches and watch one of the five hundred movies on offer. The games room, which looks onto the hanging wall garden, comes with a billiard table, darts and bar and is the ideal spot to spend fun-filled hours. If you feel the need to keep in shape the gym comes equipped with machines, weights and has a shower and bathroom attached.

Outdoor living

With views like these, you'll want to take advantage of Bayu Gita's outdoor living areas. The bar and dining area overlooking the ocean is perfect for enjoying an early morning breakfast or sipping cocktails as the sun sets over the Indian Ocean. The covered balé, furnished with with sofas, can easily accommodate 10 people, and the dining table can seat 14. The enormous swimming pool and jacuzzi, ornamented by beautiful Balinese statues and water features, is edged with eight sun loungers shaded by umbrellas. And in the garden there's yet another sitting area for those wanting to watch the action from a peaceful distance.

One of the greatest advantages of staying in a villa is the personalised service provided by dedicated staff. Bayu Gita's staff have been professionally trained and will do their utmost to please with their warm and friendly Balinese hospitality.

Villa manager
Bayu Gita?s friendly and experienced manager is responsible for the overall operation of the villa. His job is to oversee and coordinate the staff and property and to assist guests during their stay.

Chef and cook
The villa?s skilled private chef and cook will happily prepare anything from the Western, Asian, vegetarian and children?s suggestion menus, as well as discuss special requests and dietary requirements.

Housekeeping
Housekeeping staff will look after daily housekeeping and domestic duties.

Service staff
Butlers are on hand to serve food and drinks throughout the day and to assist the villa manager with any requests guests may have.

Garden and pool
Bayu Gita?s gardens and pools are maintained daily and general maintenance and engineering staff are always on hand.

Driver
A driver and car (seating up to 7 passengers) is available to villa guests for eight hours at a special rate of USD25++/day (excluding petrol)

Four guards provide 24-hour security.

Villa Bayu Gita and Bayu Gita Residence lie alongside the dramatic black sands of Pabean Beach in the bucolic east-coast village of Ketewel. The area is blessed with spectacular views extending across the ocean towards the beaches of Sanur and Nusa Dua, the islands of Lembongan, Ceningan and Penida, and the mountains of east Bali, and is well known by surfers, who come here to enjoy breaks which are far less crowded than those of Kuta or Uluwatu.

The charming and laid-back seaside town of Sanur is a short drive (10km) from the villa. Here you will find cafes, restaurants, beachside bars, calm swimming waters and a boardwalk where you can enjoy a leisurely stroll or a bicycle ride. Also within easy reach of Bayu Gita are several villages renowned for their locally produced arts and crafts, silverware and woodwork as well as the Bali Safari & Marine Park and Bali Bird Park. Bali?s cultural hub, Ubud, is a mere thirty-minute drive away.

Bayu Gita's manager will have a wealth of information about nearby places of interest and will help arrange transport and make any bookings required. Do also ask the staff about the local area. Many of them live nearby and will be able to give an interesting insight into some of the fascinating aspects of Bali life.

In the meantime, here is a taste of the many and varied activities on offer within reach of the villas.

• The stretch of beach between Sanur and Ketewel is well known as a surfer's heaven (especially in East Coast Season, which runs from November to May, when the winds turn offshore on this side of the island), but beginners should be aware of strong, swirling currents. Good breaks can be found in front of the Grand Bali and Sanur Beach Hotels.

• Saba Bay Horse Riding has a special horse-riding track (suitable for beginners) on a beautiful black sandy beach overlooking the Indian Ocean and Nusa Penida Island.

• There is a 9-hole golf course at the Bali Beach Hotel in Sanur, but golf enthusiasts might want to travel further afield to the Nirwana Bali Golf Course at Tanah Lot, or the Bali Golf and Country Club in Nusa Dua for 18-hole courses.

• Ubud and the villages in the surrounding area contain dozens of examples of beautiful Hindu Temples. Most temples are free to visit or ask for a small donation. Proper attire is required, although many temples will loan or rent a sarong for your visit. Pura Penataran Asih in nearby Pejeng is a charming temple containing the largest bronze kettle drum in the world. Pura Besakih on the slopes of Mount Agung is Bali's most sacred temple site. A complex of 23 temples can be explored on a day trip from Ubud.

• If you are a bold and brave bargain hunter, a shopping spree at one of the Denpasar's markets within the heart of Bali's bustling provincial capital, is an exciting and rewarding experience.

• Covering 3.8 hectares of tropical parkland in Kuta, Waterbom Bali has 16 water slides (including The Climax with its 360 degree loop) to entertain the young and the young at heart. A grest family day out, but go early to beat the crowds.

• Other family attractions to enjoy in the area include the Bali Safari & Marine Park, the Bali Bird and Reptile Park.

• An annual international kite festival takes place at Padang Galak beach (just north of Sanur) every July. Traditional Balinese giant kites up to ten metres in length are made and flown competitively by teams from different villages around Bali. Originally, these kites were intended to send a message to the Hindu Gods to create abundant crops and harvests.

• About 7km north of Ketewel is the village of Sukawati, famous for its cheap local arts and crafts market although better quality goods can be found in Ubud (art), Celuk (silverware) and Mas (woodwork) all within an easy drive of the villa.
