Overview
Bayu Gita Residence is a spacious, contemporary, three-bedroom villa with a convivial dining and bar area and a bright upper-floor living/media room with tantalising ocean views. Outside in the tropical walled garden, guests can slip into the refreshing water of the 11-metre pool for a leisurely swim, relax in the jacuzzi or on the daybed in the gazebo, or enjoy the sunshine as they recline on a poolside lounger while their every need is attended to by the villa?s professional staff team, and delicious meals prepared at your convenience by Bayu Gita's private chef.
The villa is located in a quaint seaside village where fisherman head out in traditional boats to net their daily catch, kids run along the beachfront, and surfers will be pleased to find a break right on their doorstep. Despite the many and varied attractions at the villa, guests wanting to explore can avail themselves of a car and driver to visit the best that Bali has to offer: the art and culture of Ubud and the charming, laid-back beachside cafés and restaurants of Sanur are both within an easy drive, and the boutiques and bustling streets of Seminyak are not much further away.
Accommodation
Two-storey Bayu Gita Residence is set in a tropical walled garden featuring an 11-metre pool. On either side of the ground floor entrance hall is a guest bedroom, above which lie the master bedroom and study. The adjoining wing houses an open-plan kitchen/dining area at ground level and a media/lounge room on the upper floor. Across the lawned garden is a shady gazebo where a comfortable daybed lies alongside an inviting jacuzzi.

Master suite
The air-conditioned master suite at Bayu Gita Residence has a soaring rattan ceiling above a dreamily draped king-sized bed set on a raised wooden platform. Floor-to-ceiling windows reveal sea views through the trees. Glass doors open onto an adjoining study with long desk facing the sea, and shelves lined with books. A walk-through dressing room leads to a spacious white stone bathroom with rain shower.
Guest bedrooms 1 & 2
The villa's two air-conditioned guest bedrooms are on the ground floor. Of a similar size and layout, each is furnished with a queen-sized bed topped with embroidered cushions and one features a small, pebbled courtyard garden. Both have semi-outdoor ensuite bathrooms accented in cream and white stone, with walk-in rain showers.

Indoor living
Glass folding doors encircle all the living areas at Bayu Gita Residence, creating the option for air-conditioned cool or a semi-outdoor, open-air living experience. Furnished with a table for eight, the dining area incorporates a bar/breakfast counter behind which is a well-equipped kitchen.
The spacious lounge and media room on the upper floor features tall sloping ceilings and whirring fans. A lounge suite is arranged for comfortable viewing of the flat-screen satellite TV/DVD player, while surrounding glass doors reveal a pleasant garden vista. Two planters chairs at the far end of the room look out over a bamboo grove and the sea glinting through the trees.
Outdoor living
A patio encircles the dining room, with small temple in one corner and a six-seater circular teak table shaded by a vine-covered trellis.
At one end of the garden lies the tiled swimming pool and sun deck topped with four loungers. Terracotta pots brim with vibrantly hued bougainvillea, while golden frangipani and heliconia frame a compact manicured lawn and a large garden gazebo houses a jacuzzi and comfortable daybed scattered with cushions.

Staff & Services
One of the greatest advantages of staying in a villa is the personalised service provided by dedicated staff. Bayu Gita's staff have been professionally trained and will do their utmost to please with their warm and friendly Balinese hospitality.
Villa manager
Bayu Gita's friendly and experienced manager is responsible for the overall operation of the villa. His job is to oversee and coordinate the staff and property and to assist guests during their stay.
Chef and cook
The villa's skilled private chef and cook will happily prepare anything from the Western, Asian, vegetarian and children's suggestion menus, as well as discuss special requests and dietary requirements.
Housekeeping
Housekeeping staff will look after daily housekeeping and domestic duties.
Service staff
Butlers are on hand to serve food and drinks throughout the day and to assist the villa manager with any requests guests may have.
Garden and pool
Bayu Gita's gardens and pools are maintained daily and general maintenance and engineering staff are always on hand.
Driver
A driver and car (seating up to 7 passengers) is available to villa guests for eight hours at a special rate of USD25++/day (excluding petrol)

Location
Villa Bayu Gita and Bayu Gita Residence lie alongside the dramatic black sands of Pabean Beach in the bucolic east-coast village of Ketewel. The area is blessed with spectacular views extending across the ocean towards the beaches of Sanur and Nusa Dua, the islands of Lembongan, Ceningan and Penida, and the mountains of east Bali, and is well known by surfers, who come here to enjoy breaks which are far less crowded than those of Kuta or Uluwatu.
The charming and laid-back seaside town of Sanur is a short drive (10km) from the villa. Here you will find cafes, restaurants, beachside bars, calm swimming waters and a boardwalk where you can enjoy a leisurely stroll or a bicycle ride. Also within easy reach of Bayu Gita are several villages renowned for their locally produced arts and crafts, silverware and woodwork as well as the Bali Safari & Marine Park and Bali Bird Park. Bali?s cultural hub, Ubud, is a mere thirty-minute drive away.

Bayu Gita's manager will have a wealth of information about nearby places of interest and will help arrange transport and make any bookings required. Do also ask the staff about the local area. Many of them live nearby and will be able to give an interesting insight into some of the fascinating aspects of Bali life.
In the meantime, here is a taste of the many and varied activities on offer within reach of the villas.
- The stretch of beach between Sanur and Ketewel is well known as a surfer's heaven (especially in East Coast Season, which runs from November to May, when the winds turn offshore on this side of the island), but beginners should be aware of strong, swirling currents. Good breaks can be found in front of the Grand Bali and Sanur Beach Hotels.
- Saba Bay Horse Riding has a special horse-riding track (suitable for beginners) on a beautiful black sandy beach overlooking the Indian Ocean and Nusa Penida Island.
- There is a 9-hole golf course at the Bali Beach Hotel in Sanur, but golf enthusiasts might want to travel further afield to the Nirwana Bali Golf Course at Tanah Lot, or the Bali Golf and Country Club in Nusa Dua for 18-hole courses.
- Ubud and the villages in the surrounding area contain dozens of examples of beautiful Hindu Temples. Most temples are free to visit or ask for a small donation. Proper attire is required, although many temples will loan or rent a sarong for your visit. Pura Penataran Asih in nearby Pejeng is a charming temple containing the largest bronze kettle drum in the world. Pura Besakih on the slopes of Mount Agung is Bali's most sacred temple site. A complex of 23 temples can be explored on a day trip from Ubud.
- If you are a bold and brave bargain hunter, a shopping spree at one of the Denpasar's markets within the heart of Bali's bustling provincial capital, is an exciting and rewarding experience.
- Covering 3.8 hectares of tropical parkland in Kuta, Waterbom Bali has 16 water slides (including The Climax with its 360 degree loop) to entertain the young and the young at heart. A grest family day out, but go early to beat the crowds.
- Other family attractions to enjoy in the area include the Bali Safari & Marine Park, the Bali Bird and Reptile Park.
- An annual international kite festival takes place at Padang Galak beach (just north of Sanur) every July. Traditional Balinese giant kites up to ten metres in length are made and flown competitively by teams from different villages around Bali. Originally, these kites were intended to send a message to the Hindu Gods to create abundant crops and harvests.
- About 7km north of Ketewel is the village of Sukawati, famous for its cheap local arts and crafts market although better quality goods can be found in Ubud (art), Celuk (silverware) and Mas (woodwork) all within an easy drive of the villa.

Families
The family friendly advantages of a villa holiday are many, including access to your own private facilities and the freedom to use them whenever you want. Knowing that the kids can run around happily, independently and safely, without you having to worry about other guests, is a real plus and one that means parents are certain to have a more relaxed holiday too.Bayu Gita is a great villa for families with older children. The Beachfront villa offers a choice of pools, Wii, Xbox and a well-stocked home cinema, while Bayu Gita Residence's media room, toys, games and pool will keep kids well amused too. Younger children will also love the villas, although parents will need to be vigilant on the beach as the water is not suitable for swimming.
The team of friendly staff at Bayu Gita will make children feel as welcome as adults, and having these willing helpers on hand gives guests plenty of flexibility and freedom to do their own exploring beyond the villa grounds (full-time babysitting incurs a small extra cost).
Although the equipped kitchen allows you to prepare meals for fussy eaters or babies with ease, staff will happily to do this for you ? just talk through your requirements and meal schedules with the villa manager or chef and they will take care of the rest. Pancakes by the pool for breakfast? Toasties for tea? No problem. The chef can customise all meals to suit children's taste buds.
