Overview
In Italian, 'brio' means life, energy and enthusiasm, and there is no doubt that this villa captures that essence perfectly. Casa Brio is a wonderfully spacious and light-filled villa exuding contemporary elegance with its clean lines and tasteful neutral tones, and built using the best quality materials.
While Italian in style, Casa Brio is truly Balinese in its essence. Set within a lush tropical garden resplendent with palm trees, frangipanis and orchids the villa has been designed to take advantage of its exotic location and offers bountiful spaces in which to luxuriate, be it poolside under a shady umbrella, on a comfy sofa in the open-sided lounge pavilion, or in the air-conditioned comfort of the villa's entertainment room.
The warm and friendly Balinese staff, with their bright smiles and professional attitude, will ensure that you want for nothing. Your villa manager can book you a table at one of Seminyak?s world-class restaurants, or you can simply enjoy the services of Casa Brio's private cook, who will serve up gourmet cuisine using only the freshest ingredients in the privacy and comfort of your villa.
Casa Brio is the perfect choice for families or groups of friends wanting to get together in tasteful surroundings; a place that's ideally located to take advantage of everything that sophisticated Bali has to offer, or a place to simply relax and unwind.
Accommodation
Within its tropical garden setting, Casa Brio's stunning 21-metre pool forms the villa's centrepiece. Facing the pool and gardens are two pavilions, the first of which provides an enormous open-plan and open-sided dining, bar and lounge area as well as the villa's well-equipped kitchen.
A covered walkway from the living pavilion leads to a two-storey building, which is home to the villa's four bedrooms, an entertainment room (which can double as a fifth bedroom), and a spectacular rooftop dining terrace.
Bedrooms & Bath
Master Bedrooms
Casa Brio has two spacious king-bedded master suites. The light and airy ground floor master conveniently opens onto the garden and pool while the second floor suite has a covered balcony with charming views over the rooftops of Seminyak. Both master suites have a satellite television and DVD player and can be cooled by either air-conditioning or ceiling fans. Two large ensuite bathrooms feature elegant stone flooring, twin stone sinks, rain showers and bathtubs. The ground floor bathroom boasts a stunning outdoor bathtub surrounded by tropical gardens.
Guest bedrooms
The villa's two guest bedrooms each feature twin beds, which can be joined together to form a king size bed. These rooms lie adjacent to the master bedrooms creating an ideal set-up for families wanting to be close to the kids, but also allowing flexibility for groups of friends travelling together. Each guest bedroom has an ensuite bathroom with twin stone sinks, rain shower and bathtub, while the upstairs guest bedroom has the additional benefit of a furnished covered balcony. Should extra sleeping space be required, the entertainment room, which has an adjacent shower room, can be easily converted into a fifth bedroom for a small additional fee.
Living & Dining Areas
What makes the lounge and dining pavilion at Casa Brio so special is the wonderful interplay between indoor and outdoor space; unconfined by doors or windows, the balmy Balinese breezes flow through effortlessly. The marble-floored, open-plan lounge and dining area, which also features a bar with seating for three, is backed by a 'wall? of palms and luxuriant tropical plants and overlooks the garden and pool area. Settle down on the rattan sofas under the traditional pitched roof, lulled by the gentle whir of the ceiling fans, while you watch the poolside comings and goings.
The kitchen is separated by a door from the lounge and dining area and comes well equipped with everything required to produce delicious meals which can be enjoyed at the dining table with seating for ten.
The entertainment room provides the perfect sanctuary for those seeking air-conditioned comfort. The room is equipped with a satellite television, DVD player, iPod docking station, small library, writing desk, and sofas on which to kick back and watch a movie or enjoy a quiet read.
There is no shortage of outdoor relaxation space at Casa Brio; from the delightfully spacious, cushioned gazebo at one end of the pool, to the six umbrella-shaded sun loungers on the wooden deck, to the cosy nook on the ground floor of the bedroom pavilion, that makes the perfect setting for an afternoon nap. The poolside area is also a fabulous spot to hold an intimate garden party or a barbecue.
The rooftop terrace was designed for guests to enjoy alfresco dining day or night. In the daytime the table for ten is shaded by an umbrella while in the evening you can enjoy a meal under the stars. With its views over Seminyak, this terrace is also a lovely setting for a sunset drink.

Activities
Your villa manager will have a wealth of information about places of interest and will help arrange transport and make any bookings required. Do ask the staff about the area too; most will live nearby and can give an interesting insight into some of the fascinating aspects of local Bali life.
In the meantime, here's a taste of the many and varied activities on offer within reach of Casa Brio
- Grab your bucket and spade (or walking shoes) and head to Petitenget Beach, whose sands stretch north towards Canggu and south to Kuta.
- Visit the famous sea temple at Tanah Lot (16km). Although renowned for its sunset vistas, going early in the morning provides a better idea of the power of the location and the chance to see it undisturbed, apart from perhaps an offering ceremony.
- A nice sunset alternative is to head down to Echo Beach (7km) where a number of cafés offer good sunset views and cold beer. Nearby, the museum-like Hotel Tugu, a very stylish and eclectic boutique hotel a few kilometres from Echo Beach is well worth dropping into for an aperitif too. Note that the beach along this section of the coast is dark volcanic sand and the waters are better suited to surfing than swimming.
- Seminyak, Bali's most cosmopolitan enclave, is at your doorstep and you can indulge for hours in the glut of stylish, chic boutiques and international restaurants and bars including, Potato Head Beach Club, La Lucciola and Bali's infamously trendy Ku Dé Ta. For furniture, antiques and homeware stores go for a wander around the streets of nearby Kerobokan.
- Play a round of golf at the unbelievably scenic Nirwana Bali Golf Course. Bordered by ocean and rice fields and just down from Tanah Lot sea temple, no wonder this championship-standard course (designed by golf legend, Greg Norman) is frequently voted number one in Asia.
- Drive westwards to explore the charming Tabanan Regency, revealing terraced rice fields of emerald green, volcanic mountains and black-sand beaches dotted with fishing communities. Or head north to explore the volcanic lakes near the mountain town of Bedugul, including Lake Bratan with its photogenic and stunningly positioned Pura Ulun Danu ? one of Bali's most important temples.
- Get up to some monkey business at Bali Treetop Adventure Park (next to Lake Bratan). Five adventure circuits, with heights ranging from 2 to 20 metres, challenge all ages and skill levels via suspended bridges, spider nets, Tarzan jumps and 12 flying foxes.
- Surfs Up! The Island of Bali is world renowned for year-round surfing. Warm seas, relatively uncrowded beaches with reef breaks and suitability for all levels of experience, deem Bali a world-renowned surfing destination. The beaches of Canggu (3km) are known for their world-class surf breaks, offering exposed reef breaks with consistent surf. May through to October (dry season) is the favoured time for waves.
- If you are a bold and brave bargain hunter, a spree within the heart of Bali's bustling provincial capital is an exciting and rewarding experience. Visit the vibrant Denpasar markets, where everything and anything is available.
- Covering 3.8 hectares of tropical parkland in Kuta, Waterbom Bali has 16 water slides (including The Climax with its 360 degree loop) to entertain the young and the young at heart. A great family day out, but go early to beat the crowds.
Services included
Exclusive use of the whole villa and the services of its team of staff, including villa manager, housekeepers and night time security. All villa facilities, including private swimming pool and unlimited WiFi internet.
Additional Notes
Families
The family-friendly advantages of a villa holiday are many, including access to your own private facilities and the freedom to use them whenever you want. Knowing that the kids can run around happily, independently and safely, without you having to worry about other guests, is a real plus ? and one that means parents are certain to have a more relaxed holiday too.Casa Brio is a great villa for families. The 21-metre swimming pool features a special shallow section for the little ones which has a safety net so children can't enter the deeper water, and there is also a range of pool toys. Those travelling with toddlers should be aware that (in common with many Bali villas) there are some open fish ponds and water features to watch out for. The villa is also well equipped with children's DVDs and games.
The team of friendly staff at Casa Brio will make children feel as welcome as adults, and having these willing helpers on hand gives guests plenty of flexibility and freedom to do their own exploring beyond the villa grounds (full-time babysitting incurs a small extra cost).
Although the equipped kitchen allows you to prepare meals for fussy eaters or babies with ease, staff will happily to do this for you ? just talk through your requirements and meal schedules with the villa manager or cook and they will take care of the rest. Banana pancakes by the pool for breakfast? Toasted sandwiches in the entertainment room for lunch? No problem. The cook can customise all meals to suit children's taste buds.
And don't worry about packing all that cumbersome kids' equipment for your stay. Just let us know what you need; anything we don't have in-house (villa facilities include a baby cot and high chair) we can arrange for you upon request. (See full list of available hire items).
And when the excitement of exploring the villa starts to wear off, check out our Things to do page; there's plenty in the area to keep all the family amused throughout the holiday.
Dining
Your private cook is well versed in both Indonesian and Western cuisines. Just discuss your requirements three hours in advance so that the kitchen staff can buy the freshest ingredients available.Guests will be requested to provide grocery money in advance and the staff will do the shopping and keep receipts for reference. Groceries and beverages are billed at cost price plus 20%.
Spa
Feel like a body scrub or massage? Just ask our staff to bring the spa to you! We can recommend deluxe treatments carried out in the privacy of your own villa by fully trained therapists from a reputable local spa (extra charges will apply). Or, simply stroll around the corner to find some of Bali's most coveted Spas, including Bodyworks, Cool and Esthetic. Here's a sample of what's on the menu:Balinese massage
Release built up tension with a traditional Balinese massage. Using a combination of gentle stretches, acupressure and aromatherapy oils to stimulate the flow of blood, oxygen and energy around your body, you will feel totally relaxed in no time.
Foot reflexology
Foot reflexology is a natural healing art based on the principle that there are reflexes in the feet which correspond to every part of the body. Through application of pressure on these reflexes tension is relieved and circulation improved leaving you feeling balanced.
Body scrub
A full body scrub will exfoliate and hydrate your skin leaving it soft and smooth. A rejuvenating scrub combines an abrasive material such as salt, coffee, rice bran or pecan hulls with essential oils to remove any impurities and make your skin glow.
Manicure/pedicure
Our hands and feet work hard for us every day but rarely get the attention they deserve. Treat them to a manicure or pedicure, which usually comes with the added bonus of a quick hand or foot massage.
