Overview

Welcome to Eshara, our urban-slick, 'three-in-one' villa offering eight, five, three and two bedroom options that make it perfect for everyone from romancing couples and small families all the way up to large groups of friends.

Situated off a quiet street, yet only 300 metres from Seminyak's bustling beach, shops and restaurants, Eshara villas I, II and III each have their own private gardens and swimming pools ? separated by a clever system of retracting garden walls ? as well as individual indoor and outdoor living spaces and equipped, open-plan kitchens. When the whole villa is opened up as one, it can easily cater for up to 16 guests.

Eshara's seductive interiors are designed to delight: think funky furnishings, brightly coloured artwork, fascinating artefacts and lush fabrics; a place where stone-carved Balinese goddesses invite you to be seated on cowhide chairs under opulent Swarovski crystal chandeliers. And this tropical living concept spills outside onto palm-tree-dotted lawns where you can lounge on pool decks or enjoy romantic dinners lit by flickering fire bowls.

Our team of highly competent and professional staff will make your holiday wishes come true. The villa manager and personal butlers are on hand to ensure you want for nothing and, if you'd rather not self-cater, our chef will prepare your meals from a large suggestion menu of Asian and Western favourites or according to your special requests.

With a staggering array of hedonistic pleasures virtually on the doorstep, Villa Eshara's location is a wonderland for bon-vivants. From designer boutiques and day spas to beach bars, world-class restaurants, pulsating nightspots and the expansive Petitenget Beach, fun and fine-dining are never much more than a few moments away.

Accommodation

Villa Eshara I consists of two pavilions built in an L-shape around a 12 x 5-metre green-tiled swimming pool surrounded by wooden decking and set within a garden filled with coconut palms, frangipani trees, tropical plants and flowers. One pavilion houses the large living, dining and kitchen area, the master bedroom and one of the guest bedrooms, while the second pavilion houses the remaining guest bedroom.

Bedrooms & Bathrooms

Master

Villa Eshara I's master bedroom is filled with natural light that shines through the large sliding glass doors in front of the king-size bed, and soothed by the sound of falling water from the water features just outside. The room's high-pitched roof and hardwood floors add to the feeling of space and the ensuite bathroom is also blessed with a wall of glass and a series of stone figurine fountains right alongside the tub, creating a mesmerising bath time like no other.

Guestroom One

Behind louvre doors to the living room, and next door to the master, this twin-bedded room (beds can convert to a king) is perfect for kids. Glass doors along one wall offer up a Zen-like pebble garden bordered with bamboo, while a deep soaking tub adds a touch of luxury in the marble ensuite bathroom.

Guestroom Two

Eshara I's second guest bedroom looks out across to the pool and two towering coconut trees. Its king-size bed sits under a high-pitched wooden ceiling and the room is decorated in natural earth tones to create a very relaxed ambiance. The elegant ensuite bathroom generously offers the option of both indoor and outdoor showers.

Living & Dining Areas

With hardwood floors and a soaring ceiling, Villa Eshara I's living and dining room is a massive space exuding taste and elegance. Cooled by ceiling fans and with glass doors running the length of one wall, the room is bathed in natural light. Furnishings include a long wooden dining table for 12, huge comfortable sofas and a giant, ornately carved rocking horse. At one end is an open-plan kitchen equipped for guest use.

Outside, the 12-metre swimming pool is surrounded on three sides by a wooden deck topped with loungers, sofas and sunshades, creating a lovely area in which to relax and catch a few rays. Coconut trees, frangipanis and flowering plants lend a true sense of place, lulling guests deep into the tropical holiday vibe.

Activities

Villa Eshara's manager will have a wealth of information about nearby places of interest and will help arrange transport and make any bookings required. Do also ask the staff about the local area. Many of them live nearby and will be able to give an interesting insight into some of the fascinating aspects of Bali life.

In the meantime, here is a taste of the many and varied activities on offer within reach of the villa.

  • Villa Eshara is in the heart of Seminyak, Bali's most cosmopolitan enclave, where fashionistas, trendies and shop-a-holics can indulge themselves in the glut of stylish, chic boutiques. There is a wide choice of fine-dining, mid-range, and cheap ?n cheerful restaurants in Seminyak too: fine-dining venues include Sarong, the famous Ku Dé Ta, Mama San, Merah Putih, La Lucciola, Sardine and Métis.

  • Visit the famous temple at Tanah Lot (16.5km). Visiting early in the morning (8-9am) provides a better idea of the power of the location and the chance to see it undisturbed apart from perhaps an offering ceremony.

  • Head down to Echo Beach in Canggu (11km) where a number of cafes offer great sunset views and icy cold beers. Note that the beach here is dark volcanic sand and the waters are better suited to surfing, having a pronounced swell and rip, rather than children's swimming. Hotel Tugu, a very stylish and eclectic boutique hotel a few minutes further down the coast is also a good sunset spot.

  • Play a round at the unbelievably scenic Nirwana Bali Golf Course (17km). Bordered by ocean and rice fields and just down from Tanah Lot sea temple, no wonder this championship-standard course (designed by golf legend, Greg Norman) is frequently voted number one in Asia.

  • Drive westwards to explore the charming Tabanan regency, revealing terraced rice fields of emerald green, volcanic mountains and black-sand beaches dotted with fishing communities. You may wish to visit the breathtaking panorama of the Jatiluwih rice terraces, which has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2008 for its preservation of traditional Balinese farming techniques. At a height of 850m above sea level, the view here is one of the finest imaginable. Alternatively, head north to explore the volcanic lakes near the mountain town of Bedugul, including Lake Bratan with its photogenic and stunningly positioned Pura Ulun Danu ? one of Bali's most important temples.

  • Covering 3.8 hectares of tropical parkland in Kuta (7.6km), Waterbom Bali has 16 water slides (including The Climax with its 360 degree loop) to entertain the young and the young at heart. A great family day out, but go early to beat the crowds.

  • Bold and brave bargain hunters should head for one of Denpasar's markets within the heart of Bali's bustling provincial capital, for an exciting and rewarding shopping experience.

  • Hire a bicycle and explore the scenic rice-field landscape and rural villages; a great way to get under the skin of the ?real' Bali. Stop off at a local warung (café) to sample some basic Balinese fare or cool off with a cold drink.

Services included

Exclusive use of each villa booked and the services of its staff team, including villa manager, housekeepers, personal chef and nighttime security. All villa facilities, including private swimming pool and unlimited WiFi internet.

Additional Notes

Families
The family friendly advantages of a villa holiday are many, including access to your own private facilities and the freedom to use them whenever you want. Knowing that the kids can run around happily, independently and safely, without you having to worry about other guests, is a real plus ? and one that means parents are certain to have a more relaxed holiday too.

Villa Eshara is a great villa for families and each of the three villas has a twin-bedded room ideal for kids. Those with toddlers will need to be vigilant around the swimming pools, although a pool fence can be installed at Eshara II and III upon request (extra cost applies).

The team of friendly staff at Villa Eshara will make children feel as welcome as adults, and having these willing helpers on hand gives guests plenty of flexibility and freedom to do their own exploring beyond the villa grounds (full-time babysitting incurs a small extra cost).

Although the equipped kitchens allow you to prepare meals for fussy eaters or babies with ease, staff will happily to do this for you ? just talk through your requirements and meal schedules with the villa manager or chef and they will take care of the rest. Pancakes by the pool for breakfast? Toasties for tea? No problem. The chef can customise all meals to suit children's taste buds.

Don't worry about packing all that cumbersome kids' equipment for your stay. Just let us know what you need, and anything we don't have in-house (villa facilities include a baby cot and highchair) we can hire on your behalf

Dining
Villa Eshara offers an extensive suggestion menu of delicious home-style meals featuring Asian and international dishes to cater to all tastes, with an excellent selection of vegetarian and children's options. The villa's professionally trained chef is also more than happy to tailor meals to accommodate any special dietary requirements. A stay is not complete without sampling some local dishes such as pepes ikan (fish steamed in banana leaf), satay ayam (chicken satay on bamboo skewers) or pisang goreng (fried banana) served with ice cream.

Groceries and beverages are billed at cost price plus a 20% service charge, and guests will be requested to provide grocery money in advance, leaving the staff to do the shopping and present receipts for reference. To make the most of the kitchen and give staff time to shop, it is a good idea to plan meals the evening before or with a minimum of five hours notice.

SPA
Feel like a body scrub or massage? Just ask our staff to bring the spa to you! We can recommend deluxe treatments carried out by fully trained therapists from a reputable local spa (extra charges will apply). Here's a sample of what's on the menu:

Massage
Release built up tension with a traditional Balinese massage. Using a combination of gentle stretches, acupressure and aromatherapy oils to stimulate the flow of blood, oxygen and energy around your body, you will feel totally relaxed in no time.

Foot reflexology
Foot reflexology is a natural healing art based on the principle that there are reflexes in the feet which correspond to every part of the body. Through application of pressure on these reflexes tension is relieved and circulation improved leaving you feeling balanced.

Body scrub
A full body scrub will exfoliate and hydrate your skin leaving it soft and smooth. A rejuvenating scrub combines an abrasive material such as salt, coffee, rice bran or pecan hulls with essential oils to remove any impurities and make your skin glow.

Manicure/pedicure
Our hands and feet work hard for us every day but rarely get the attention they deserve. Treat them to a manicure or pedicure, which usually comes with the added bonus of a quick hand or foot massage.
