Overview
Accommodation
Huge reclaimed ironwood doors open onto the first floor garden courtyard and its stunning ocean vista. To one side is the living room and media room with large veranda beyond. To the other side is the dining terrace, powder room and, behind, the kitchen and staff service areas. Above this wing are two bedrooms. Two further guest bedrooms and the master lie a floor below, opening onto ironwood decks poised over lily ponds and looking across the lawn to the large pool and cliff-edge entertainment bale. On a lower level is the large gym, sauna and steam room.
The heart of Villa Soham is the large light-flooded living pavilion that enjoys panoramic views of the ocean glistening towards the horizon. Half of the pavilion is enclosed and air-conditioned; the other half is left open-sided for alfresco living. Under the teakwood-lined vaulted roof, two over-sized sofas and designer all-weather rattan chairs encircle a black marble coffee table. A signature pendant lamp hangs over a massive marble-topped table comfortably seating 12; a butlers' bar is discreetly tucked away behind.
Tucked below the pool is a large well-equipped gym with separate rooms for sauna and steam, and a massage room. If required, the gym can be converted into a spacious ocean-view conference room.
One half of the living pavilion comprises an enormous open-sided ironwood veranda lined with bench seating the best place to enjoy the panoramic ocean vista beyond. Elsewhere on the same level is a dining terrace where eight to 10 guests may enjoy alfresco meals with a killer view.
Custom-designed furniture, a soothing grey and ivory colour scheme, 42-inch cable TV, extensive wardrobe space and a choice of air-conditioning or overhead fan are features of all five unusually spacious bedrooms. The bathrooms continue the contemporary theme with walls of Javanese marble and smoked glass, and cream acid-washed marble floors; all feature rain showers and there are bathtubs in three of them.

There's a kids' menu featuring favourite foods, and the chef can prepare other dishes on request or adapt adult meals to suit young tastebuds. Spa & Gym
GymThe designated gym with free weights and weight bench is located at Villa Soham, and is shared with Villa Hamsa.
Spa
There's no need to leave the privacy of your own villa to enjoy some of the spa experiences for which Bali is famed, as we can arrange for well trained therapists from a reputable local spa to give you massage and other treatments within the villa at any time of the day by prior arrangement with the villa manager (extra charges will apply). Both villas have designated massage rooms, but you may also prefer to choose another place such as your bedroom, or the Hamsa master suite deck, or the Soham poolside pavilion. Here are samples of what's on offer:
Balinese massage
Release built up tension with a traditional Balinese massage. Using a combination of gentle stretches, acupressure and aromatherapy oils to stimulate the flow of blood, oxygen and energy around your body, you will feel totally relaxed in no time.
Foot reflexology
Foot reflexology is a natural healing art based on the principle that there are reflexes in the feet which correspond to every part of the body. Through application of pressure on these reflexes tension is relieved and circulation improved leaving you feeling balanced.
Body scrub
A full body scrub will exfoliate and hydrate your skin leaving it soft and smooth. A rejuvenating scrub combines an abrasive material such as salt, coffee, rice bran or pecan hulls with essential oils to remove any impurities and make your skin glow.
Manicure/pedicure
Our hands and feet work hard for us every day but rarely get the attention they deserve. Treat them to a manicure or pedicure, which usually comes with the added bonus of a quick hand or foot massage.
Wedding
Sohamsa fuses intimacy and grandeur to create exclusive family weddings for up to 18 guests staying in luxury on site. The estate can also host larger wedding parties ' for up to 60 guests for cocktails and as many as 40 for seated dinners.
We are happy to recommend expert event organisers, florists, decorators and caterers so the wedding party can kick off their heels and concentrate on enjoying the celebrations. For information on hosting a wedding at Sohamsa Ocean Estate
