The Els Club
Within weeks of opening, The Els Club was named 'The World's Best New Golf Course' and 'Best New Golf Course in Asia' at the inaugural World Golf Awards 2014. Designed by golf legend Ernie Els and managed by Troon Golf, it is a world-class 18-hole, par-72, 6750-yard championship course that weaves through ancient rainforest towards the marbled peaks of the Mat Cincang mountain range and the turquoise waters of the Andaman Sea. Paying homage to the surrounding nature, the course is free of traditional bunkers; instead, the indigenous flora and meandering streams create magnificent natural hazards. A sight to behold and an experience to play.

Gunung Raya Golf Course
Sensationally scenic, this international-standard 18-hole course  designed by renowned American golf architect Max Wexler  is located at the foothills of Gunung Raya, Langkawi's highest mountain.  Lavishly laid out over 300 acres of former rubber plantation, the rolling greens and impeccable fairways are contoured with sand traps and water hazards for an exhilarating round.

Bird Watching
Langkawi is home to more than 190 species of birds, and the best months to view them are from October to April when winter migrants visit the area. Bird watching sessions begin from 8:00 am to 11:30 am daily, at a location about 30 minutes drive from the Resort. For details please enquire at the Concierge.

Biking
Pedal around on a guided biking trip that takes you through Langkawi's rural areas and neighbouring local villages for a slice of Malaysian kampong life. Enjoy the beauty of rustic wooden houses amid stretches of green padi fields in charming, unhurried surroundings with basking, mud-soaked water buffalo.

Archery
Located near the rock-climbing site, under a canopy of luscious greenery, the Resort's professional archery range enables beginners and intermediates alike to practise holding, aiming and shooting with a recurved longbow and a full-size target board, supported by an experienced archery instructor. Children ages 12 and over can experience their first taste of using a bow and arrow, with expert supervision and help from fully trained instructors.

Mangrove & Eagles Safari
Eagles, monkeys, otters, walking fish - Langkawi's Kilim Karst Geoforest Park is home to one of the most diverse tropical ecosystems on the planet. During an exclusive excursion with Four Seasons Resort Langkawi, you'll venture by boat into this nature preserve - part of the UNESCO-endorsed Langkawi Geopark -  as a Four Seasons naturalist leads you to up-close encounters with exotic animals and Malaysia's most ancient geological formations. Your incredible journey begins when you set sail from Four Seasons Resort Langkawi's private beach. Passing soaring ancient sea stacks, you'll enter the park's dramatic waterways - a maze of 550-million-year-old cliffs and tangled mangroves, home to some of the world's most intriguing creatures. Traverse little-known tributaries in search of monitor lizards and sleeping vipers, and coast into ancient limestone caves. Back at the Resort, visit the Geopark Discovery Centre - the only one of its kind -  for a fascinating debrief of your extraordinary adventure.

On the water

Take to the emerald waters of the Andaman Sea and traverse the uninhabited UNESCO Geopark islets with our range of thrilling water sports. Enjoy complimentary sailing and windsurfing introductions, fly over the calm waters on X-Jetblades or a jet ski, make waves with wakeboarding tricks, embark on a core-strengthening SUP workout, explore sea stacks by kayak, or race down the beach on a Blokart or Kite Buggy. Our Water Sports Centre is open from 9:00am until 6:00pm for your adrenalin-seeking pleasure, including a range of complimentary equipment with additional courses and motorised experiences available at a fee.

Kayak Mangrove
Experience Langkawi's mangrove forests by kayak, while enjoying peace, serenity and a taste of adventure. This 3-hour journey leaves from the beach in front of the Resort. A boat will take you into the estuary to the kayak launching point. Our naturalist will guide you into tributaries surrounded by mangrove forests and introduce you to the sights and sounds of Langkawi's natural environment.

Coastal Kayaking
From the Resort's beach, a boat will take you on the open sea to the eastern rim of Langkawi, where you will begin your kayaking experience, accompanied by our Naturalist. Discover Langkawi's natural karst lake, a salt-water lake connected to the sea through a 15-metre (49-foot) cave tunnel. Marvel at the beauty of the emerald Andaman waters, mangrove forest and spectacular limestone hill. The adventure continues with a dip in the lake for a refreshing swim, and ends at the mouth of the Kisap River.

Stand-up Paddleboarding
Master the balancing basics - from knees to standing tall - then embark on a low-impact, full body ocean-top workout that combines aerobics and core-strengthening techniques with nature, tranquility and 360-degree views. (A chargeable non-motorised activity).

Boat Cruise
Explore the southern islands of the Langkawi archipelago by boat while learning about the legend of the Lake of the Pregnant Maiden. The three islands visited on this excursion are Pulau Beras Basah, Pulau Dayang Bunting and Pulau Tuba. Bring along your swimwear and towels for a relaxing swim. Local lunch packs are provided, or you may choose to bring your own picnic basket specially prepared by our chefs for an unforgettable day out at sea.

Fishing
An exhilarating adventure for anglers. Reel in some fun by fishing in the southern isles of Langkawi, endowed with shallow reefs teeming with tropical fish ranging from sea bass to trevally. Return with your day's catch, and allow our chefs to prepare it just the way you like it!

Sailing and Cruising
Experience the peace and tranquility of cruising on the Andaman Sea. Sail to secluded islands - visit pristine beaches or venture into the forests to see Langkawi from a different perspective.

Underwater

Watersports Scuba diving
Just over an hour away is Pulau Payar Marine Park, a peaceful diving area. PADI offers an Open Water Certification course consisting of four days of training in both theory and practical sessions. The first two days are conducted in a swimming pool and a classroom, while the final two days are spent at Pulau Payar. Helicopter Ride
For an unforgettable experience in Langkawi, guests can take a ride in a helicopter and enjoy a breathtaking views of the island from 2,000 feet up in the air. Soar with the eagles and see through their eyes. From the Lake of Pregnant Maiden to the craggy karst hills of Kilim, down to the lush padi fields of Ayer Hangat area - the sights keep rolling! The ride will start from the resort or the airport for an hour on a helicopter which has exceptional visibility from all 5 passenger seats.

Departing from the Resort's beach, the boat trip takes children deep into tangled roots of the mysterious mangrove forest to watch the antics of the hundreds of mischievous macaque monkeys that call the mangroves home. Serai
Serai, which means lemongrass in Malay, celebrates the sun-drenched flavours Italy. The creative menu features light, classic Italian specialties, using the freshest ingredients delicately balanced with aromatic herbs and spices. The restaurant's elegant design, accentuated with stone and timber, wicker chandeliers, copper pots and wind chimes, perfectly complements the magnificent backdrop of lush greenery and the emerald waters of the Andaman Sea. On the lower level, breakfast is served in the restaurant's breezy roofed terrace, while a staircase leads up to a more intimate indoor dining room as well as an oceanfront al fresco patio for dinner under the stars.

Ikan-Ikan
Built in the style of a limas, a traditional Malaysian home, Ikan-Ikan - which means "fish" in Malay - highlights authentic Malay cuisine. The casual beachfront pavilion is divided into four main areas, each with idyllic views over the surroundings. The largest is a 34-seat open-air teak deck with a two-storey fish-scaled terracotta Malay roof overlooking spectacular ocean and garden views. Steps down from the pavilion is a cocktail and al fresco dining terrace, while two pavilions on either side of Ikan-Ikan accommodate a bar with cocktail seating on one side, and a private dining room for 16 on the other.

Kelapa Grill
Look out over the emerald Andaman Sea, relax in the cool evening breeze, and savour a delectable dinner of fresh local seafood and prime aged steaks at Kelapa Grill by the beach.
Kelapa Grill is open for lunch and dinner, with a daytime menu of imaginative light fare, from Asian stir-fries to wood-fired pizzas and other Western favourites. By night, the beachfront Kelapa Bar becomes the perfect spot to enjoy sunset drinks with friends and family before a sumptuous dinner of grilled classics at Kelapa Grill.
