Just steps from your Four Seasons villa or suite are a multitude of options for sports and recreation. You can also make friends with some of the island's oldest inhabitants by stopping to say hello to our Aldabra tortoises down by Kannel Restaurant.

Tennis

Stand-Up Paddle
Explore the calm waters of the sheltered, horseshoe-shaped bay with an invigorating stand-up paddle tour. Hire a board and receive a simple lesson before heading out  to enjoy a great workout for arms and core muscles, while taking in a new, spectacular angle of the Resort.

Snorkelling Excursions
Fun for the whole family, embark on a magical underwater adventure in search of turtles, Nemo and all manner of marine residents. Don't worry if you're not comfortable in the water yet as our recreation team will be happy to teach you

Hire a speedboat just for you, or ride along the lagoon surface in a tube or on a banana at an exhilarating pace. The Boathouse has a plethora of tempting options for you to enjoy.

Kitesurfing
Kitesurfing melds surfing, wakeboarding, wakesurfing and flying into a hassle-free freestyle, with huge potential for fast progression. Landaa's clear safe lagoon extends for two kilometres without any obstructions, making it one of the best places in the Maldives to take to the skies.

Jet Skiing
Take a jet ski for a spin in the lagoon; hitch a ride with one of our team; or embark on an adventure package for an in-depth exploration of the surrounding area ? including the chance to find a dolphin or manta ray!

Parasailing
Combine the thrill of a wing-free flying experience with an incredible bird's-eye view of the UNESCO Biosphere Reserve from our state-of-the-art Cherokee 30 parasailing winch boat ? complete with large landing platform at the rear. Fees apply.

Dolphin Cruise
There are hundred of dolphins in the waters around Landaa Giraavaru. Join our marine biologist for a short briefing then climb aboard for the chance to watch schools of spinners up close.

Sunset Fishing
Hop aboard our traditional wooden dhoni and cruise into the sunset for a spot of hand-line fishing. With any luck you'll catch dinner ? and maybe even spot a pod of playful dolphins!

Boot camp
Getting fit has never been so scenic! Our pristine beaches make for excellent resistance jogging ? then let our instructors guide you through exercises to get you on the move and feeling great.

Marine Discovery Centre
Located on the island, the Marine Discovery Centre works to enrich the guest experience through education, research and conservation of the marine environment. It is the base for pioneering research on manta rays and coral reefscaping, leading to knowledge that will help preserve these at-risk species.

Children

whether your family is young, all grown up or at any stage in between, Four Seasons Resort Maldives at Landaa Giraavaru is a wonderful home base. We go out of our way to make our youngest guests feel welcome, and our resourceful Concierge is always close at hand ? to make reservations for a family dinner, offer suggestions for tomorrow's outing or help arrange a babysitter. Children under 12 can share their parents' room at no extra charge.

The Kuda Velaa (?little turtle?) Club keeps our youngest guests entertained during their stay, with exciting games, cultural craft-making, educational activities and beach fun. The club is open to children from the ages of 4 to 12, who are all supervised by our our Kids' Coordinator. Children aged three or under are welcome when accompanied by an adult guardian.

Our program at the Kuda Velaa Club aims to keep kids active outdoors, allowing them to experience the Maldivian spirit. Kids can take part in the following activities:

Young Adults' Centre ? Majaa Maizan

Majaa Maizan, our young adults' centre, welcomes guests between the ages of 13 and 18. It's the perfect place to hang out and meet new friends or catch up with old ones. Enjoy a game of pool, table tennis or table football. Watch a movie on the plasma-screen television, use the PlayStation or access the Internet. Or enjoy beach and water sports.

An activities guide lists exciting options to make your stay in Landaa Giraavaru even more memorable, and a staff member is always on hand to answer any questions you may have. Please contact the Resort's recreation team for more information or to organise activities.

Al Barakat
Named after Abu Al Barakat Yusuf Al Barbari, a North African scholar who made Baa Atoll his home in the 12th century, Al Barakat serves authentic Arabian cuisine. The restaurant is built over water, off the main jetty. A shisha bar is located on the ground level. The main dining area on the rooftop features comfortable low seating.

Café Landaa
Overlooking the swimming pool and beach, the three thatched-roofed pavilions of Café Landaa are separated by reflecting ponds. For breakfast, lunch and dinner, our chefs create exquisite delights with Eastern and Western influences.

Fuego Grill
Located adjacent to the seawater pool and overlooking the eastern coast of the island, Fuego Grill is open for dinner. The restaurant offers fresh catch of the day as well as a wide selection of organic and prime cut meats, salads, sandwiches and Asian dishes from an open kitchen pavilion. Teak tables and chairs are set in the sand facing the sea.

Blu
Located at the western end of the island overlooking a 2-kilometre (1.2-mile) lagoon, Blu embraces the essence of the Maldives as the place where the ocean meets the sky. From the restaurant pavilion on one side or the Blu Bar pavilion on the other, you can watch the sun sink below the horizon. The restaurant serves light antipasti, pizza and pasta during the day and fine Italian cuisine in the evening.

SeaBar
Take the short seawalk to one of the most relaxed decks in the Maldives. At Seabar, you'll laze on comfortable cushions as you sip our signature frozen margaritas and snack on tapas-style share plates and light bites ? all while admiring the lemon sharks and reef fish in the turquoise waters below.

Blu Bar
In the casual sand-floor setting of Blu Bar, enjoy exotic juices, tropical cocktails or a refreshing young coconut. As the sun sets, an aperitif or glass of sparkling Prosecco is the perfect prelude to an Italian dinner next door at Blu.
