Overview
Located on the oriental coast of Koh Samui and nicknamed "the pearl of the South China Sea", the Villa Raylai opens up onto the Chaweng Beach. With its translucent waters, this wide stretch of white sand is the most reputable of the island.
Accommodation
With the villa in view, an alley of palm trees echoes the pillars that support the tile-covered framework of the house and leads towards the clear, still coastline. 'Samui' comes from the Chinese 'saboei' meaning 'safe port' and it definitely is a haven of peace. The soft, green lawn comes and caresses the milky sand of the coast. Opposite is the Koh Matlang island. It is possible to access it via the sandbanks, the discreet lines between the two islands.
Facing this enchanting landscape, the villa rests on one level, in the middle of the sweetly smelling thickets and trees full of leaves. The main body of the house is organised into two wings, at the bottom of each are covered patios which allow one to make the most of the unspoiled panorama. The U-structure links to the jade-coloured waters of the swimming pool. In the middle of the pool is a pagoda for rest, accessible by a bridge that appears to float on the waters. In the pagoda's view, at the end of the palm tree alley, a Buddha's head watches over for the place's serenity.
On the inside, the reception rooms have great views across the large bay windows. From the dining room, as from the living room, one can glimpse an unsettled mirror formed by the pool. The interior design obeys Zen principles: an immaculate universe, refined lines, a jacuzzi, and a fitness room. Pink orchids respond to the royal blue of the ceramics. The sisal rugs, bathed in sunlight, remind one of the weaver traditions that have long existed in Thailand.
The 5 bedrooms also have a sophisticated decoration and go the length of the emerald wet room. Comfort is the most important in this atmosphere that promotes the relaxation of the senses. The Villa Raylai is a true temple of tranquillity and is satisfying both to the eyes and the spirit. As Marguerite Yourcenar said so well, 'We travel to contemplate: each trip is a contemplation on the move'.

Living & Dining Areas
The room is home to the open-plan kitchen, dining and living area. This large room is extremely well designed with the kitchen area defined by a long floating island feature, which has a built in wine cooler and subtle black hobs. The back wall is lined with almost invisible white-gloss units which are punctuated only by the wall mounted chrome appliances. Three long bamboo lamps hang from the high vaulted limed wooden ceiling, above the island, and beyond the kitchen is a doorway leading out to a covered Thai-style kitchen.

Living on site, the villa manager coordinates the running of the villa with your utmost comfort in mind and is a mine of information about the area. She can also arrange for excellent spa, massage or yoga therapists to come to the villa.

From help with errands, arranging tours and transfers, restaurant reservations and special event planning to gift suggestions, our concierge staff is always prepared to assist you day and night.

The villa is located on Chaweng beach, 10 minutes from Choeng Mon, and 5 minutes from the airport, with Santiburi Golf and Country club some 30 minutes drive away.
Chaweng offers all the allure and magic of a truly vibrant nightlife with a spectacular variety of restaurants, night clubs, bars, discotheques, cocktail lounges and cabarets.
Although located in Chaweng beach the villa offers all the necessary privacy and relaxation you will ask for.
Villa Raylai is the only villa on Chaweng beach.

Good food, effortlessly provided and graciously served, is such an important part of a relaxing holiday experience. Raylai villa has an extensive reasonably priced menu of home-style Thai, Asian and international dishes that cater to all tastes, as well as vegetarian options, children's favourites and light snacks. There's also a choice of Thai set dinners, and barbecue menus and an excellent drinks menu. The experienced chef is happy to tailor meals to accommodate any special dietary requirements. He will also prepare off-menu items, shopping for groceries, keeping the receipts.Complimentary breakfast is available daily, and tea, coffee and water are available on a complimentary basis through the day.
