Winyoo Villa by Sicart & Smith Architects is an exclusive resort on the north coast of Koh Samui island in Bang Po, Thailand. Set on a quiet part of beautiful Laem Noi Beach, the project boasts 147 feet of pristine beach frontage and views of the neighboring island of Koh Phangan.

The six bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms are located in three separate bedroom pavilions. Each bedroom has a modern and spacious black terrazzo bathroom with rain shower that open to a private back garden. All bedrooms are minimalistic to create a serene and relaxing atmosphere. The bunk room is sure to be a hit with children!

Immediately when passing through the over-sized wooden doors, an air of serenity takes over you. Frangipani, Orange Jasmine and Bird of Paradise... The secluded garden is filled with fragrant tropical flowers.

You can spend whole day laying on the beach with fresh young coconuts, looking over surrounding islands as well as local fishermen quietly lay their nets for the day's catch. At the reach from the beach by kayaks or short swim, lies a colorful coral reef, perfect for snorkeling.
The sunsets along this beach are exquisite as well.

Situated in the Gulf of Thailand, Koh Samui is known for its pristine beaches, lagoons and coconuts. It is also the home of posh golf course, spas and noteworthy restaurants.

The island of great natural beauty and variety, Samui is home to about 40,000 full-time inhabitants, 90% of whom are Buddhist. The palm-fringed shoreline and coconut and fruit cultivation of the coastal lowlands rise to a central granite massive, the slopes of which are cloaked in virgin rainforest.

At 247 kmÂ² Samui is the second-largest island in Thailand and the largest island in the Chumphon Archipelago of over 80 (mostly uninhabited) islands which form the Ang Thong National Marine Park, a kayaking and snorkeling paradise. At 25 km long and 21 km wide, Samui is big enough for serious exploration by the adventurous and fit, but can be circumnavigated in just a couple of hours by motorbike or car.

The island was probably first inhabited about 15 centuries ago, settled by fishermen from the Malay Peninsula and southern China. It appears on Chinese maps dating back to 1687, under the name Pulo Cornam. The name Samui is mysterious in itself. Perhaps it is an extension of the name of one of the native trees, mui, or it is a corruption of the Chinese word Saboey, meaning "safe haven".

Climate
Koh Samui's climate is pleasantly tropical in both temperature and humidity. The average temperature is about 30 degrees Celsius, or 86 degrees Fahrenheit.

The Dry Season: December - February
Breezy & clear with a lot of sunshine this season is great for wind and body surfing.

The Hot Season: March - September
The weather is still dry during this time and usually very sunny and hot, though May has occasional sprinkles. This is a great period to visit the island.

The Rainy Season: October - November
Although these months are known as the 'monsoon season' there are still many sunny & hot days to enjoy. The showers are often short so on some occasions you may find yourself enjoying a refreshing monsoon for a few hours to break from the sun.

Your villa manager will have a wealth of information about places of interest and will help arrange transport and make any bookings required. Do also ask the staff about the area too. Most will live nearby and can give an interesting insight into some of the fascinating aspects of local life...

On the land

Santiburi Golf Club, Maenam
It's difficult to imagine a more beautiful setting, rolling greens marked by painted coconuts, sunlight streaming through a canopy of palms, views stretching out to Koh Phangan Island. Santiburi Samui Country Club's 18-hole championship golf course has been an essential stop on the PGA Asian Tour for many years. Only 15 minutes from the villa, these undulating fairways offer mountain breezes and spectacular ocean views.

Yoga
Villa Winyoo offers the perfect settings to practice yoga. Early morning on the pool deck, afternoon under the shade of the garden, or even on a paddleboard. If you are interested, please book a private teacher via the Villa Manager.
We recommend you to share what type of yoga practice you would like to have with the Villa Manager in advance. Whether you are looking for an initiation for kids or an advance Ashtanga training, our Villa Manager will arrange the best instructors from our partner, the Yogarden Samui.

Excursions
Located at the east of the Golf of Thailand, Koh Samui is surrounded by beautiful marine life and unspoiled islands. Going to a day trip to Angtong National Park, diving trip to Koh Tao, discovering the neighbor island of Koh Phangan, or venturing out on the traditional fishermen's long tail boat, there are many excursion you can enjoy during your vacation. Our Villa manager can customize day trip around Koh Samui depending on your group size and expectations.

Walking Street Markets
At night, the streets are transformed into vibrant bustling markets on differing evenings of the week, across different neighborhoods in Samui (see roster hereunder). The busy markets are full of life as tourists as well as local residents flock to enjoy the unusual & incredibly cheap eats and treats for all to indulge in and enjoy.

Kids activities
Koh Samui is also a great destination for kids. Kids are welcome everywhere and there are all sorts of activities to keep them entertained. In general, Thai's love children and are very good with them. Our Villa Manager will introduce you to the best activities for kids on the island, from waterparks, cooking classes to jungle adventures.

Shopping

Nathon (10 minutes from Villa Winyoo )

If you're looking for Thailand presents, Nathon is a great place to browse for a Thai treasures. Options are increasingly inventive and eco-minded, often at more competitive prices than in Koh Samui's main tourist centers.

The Wharf (15 minutes from the villa)

The Wharf at Fisherman Village is home to many select shops. It's a wonderful way to spend a couple of hours strolling across a relaxed open space by the sea.

Central Festival (25 mins from the villa)

Central Festival Samui is the largest shopping complex on the island, opened March 2014. Shop souvenir, groceries or forgotten-at-home swimsuits/flip flop.

Local shopping experience with Winyoo Chef

Your in-house resident Chef will cook for you any Thai, Asian or European food from the finest ingredients on the island. Shall you wish to add your favorite Western touch, you can ask for "the French Butcher", Italian Delicatessen, or other countries' specialties.

On the water

Beaches

While Villa Winyoo is nested on Samui most beautiful powder-sand beach, you may want to venture away.

Lipa Noi Beach (20 minutes from the villa)

Located at the west coast of Samui. Koh Small, uninhabited beaches with crystal clear waters, perfect for relaxing beach holidays and snorkeling. From here you have the best sunset views. Apart from the beach, there's little else to do in the area ? its very remoteness is what makes it most attractive to the regular visitors.

Chaweng Beach (30 minutes from the villa)

Over the past 20 years, Chaweng Beach has been transformed from a near deserted tropical bay into a vibrant, busy, cosmopolitan resort town. Although these days the beach is often very busy, the long winding bay is ideal for long beach walks early morning or at sunset time.

Thongtakian Beach (30 minutes from the villa)

This is one of the most idyllic and beautiful small beaches on Samui. Also commonly known as Silver Beach (easier translation) it is located between Chaweng and Lamai. It cannot be spotted from the road, though definitely worth a visit. The crystal clear waters are more secluded, and snorkeling is some of the best.

Lamai Beach (30 minutes from the villa)

Our infinity pool and beachfront location make perfect for many water sports. Explore the bay with kayaks, discover the colorful coral reef with available snorkeling gears, and pay a little visit to the nearby beach of the Four Season's Resort on paddleboards, your choice is endless. If you are an avid kite surfer, our frontbeach is excellent spot for the sport too.
Villa offers Kayaks, Paddleboards, Snorkeling gears, safety jackets for kids and adults, fishing rods, beach toys, and inflatable pool toys. If you want to kitesurf koh samui, we can also organize a gear rental. Please request to the Villa Manager in advance.

Day trip on the sea

Ang Thong Marine Park

You'll see an untouched archipelago of 42 islands and perhaps some wildlife up-close. You will enjoy kayaking and snorkeling, however the trip isn't particularly recommended for babies or young children as it's a long day in strong sun and occasionally rough water.

Koh Tan

A few hundred metres off the southwestern coast of Koh Samui from taling nam fishing village. It's a small, largely un-spoilt island, know for its coral and marine life.

Five Islands

Covered with stunted trees clinging to their rocky slopes, is home to thousands of swifts that build their nests on rocky outcrops that are collected by climbing precarious bamboo ladders. You will visit caves, hidden beaches and astop on the way back from snorkeling.

Children

Children will be full day busy from picking up sea shells, hunting crabs, and splashing in the pool. They even have the dream kid's room with a huge chalkbord wall and swings.

Villa Winyoo is a family and kids friendly villa, while staying all in the context of luxury. It is made for parents to be relaxed, and kids to have fun. This is the reason why we have a 100sqm kid's room to accommodate little ones special needs. To cater to every little child's dream escape, our specially designed large kid's room with built-in bunk beds can house up to eight kids.

It has a spacious play area with floor to ceiling black chalkboard, a swing and two swing chairs as well as a Ping-Pong table to stay active, and finally shelves stuffed with toys and books to keep them entertained. As a saver for rainy days or for evening fun, the kid's room is also equipped with Apple TV and game consoles. The room is tucked behind dining room, away from the poolside to provide extra safety for young ones.

For infants, toddlers and preschoolers, there are also options to stay with parents. We have 3 adult bedrooms that come with extra beds and also baby cots. This solution is especially recommended for the kids who do not know how to swim for safety reason.

Our chef can also accommodate special needs for kid's dining. As fragrant as Thai food can be, it can be a bit overwhelming for young ones. Our chef is happy to prepare separate meals that are adjusted to kid's sensitive taste so as kid's staples such as pasta and chicken wings. Please also let us know in advance if there are any food allergies so that we can take extra care.

Villa is well equipped with all the basic necessities such as high chairs, baby monitor and kid's cutleries. Please do ask in advance before you pack.

Kids Activities - In the Villa

Villa is naturally designed to keep kids active whole day. Kids can stay hours and hours on our front beach playing with waves, building sand castles, collecting seashells and hunting crabs. Kids fishing rods are also available if you would like to try along side with local fishermen.

Early in the morning and evening is great time to try your skills. Our large lawn area as well as open white sand beach is ideal place to play with balls. Villa's 27m infinity pools have special shallow area for young ones to play safely at the reach of the caregivers. During rainy days, or during rest time, our large kids' room becomes a perfect oasis for kids. Playing Ping-Pong, drawing on the chalkboard wall, playing with toys, or reading books, all up to their desires.

With parents' permission, kids can also have movie night or game night with our Apple TV and game consoles. Villa's kayaks are great for bigger kids to venture around our quiet bay. Bring Villa's snorkeling gears as we have great snorkeling spot 50m away from the shore in the middle of coral reefs. This activity requires to be accompanied by adults.

Kids Activities - Outside the Villa

Koh Samui offers several quality kids' activities such as Pink Elephant Water Park in Maenam, Kart, or Golf Soccer. Below website also gives you quite good list of activities for family and kids. Please let our Villa Manager knows if you need any special assistance.

One special note, Villa Winyoo strongly discourages you to go for elephant rides. While it sounds great, these activities and paying for it comes with great price for these noble animals. Please take a few minutes to research before you make a decision.

Kids Safety

As our villa has open access to beach and pool, water accident is our greatest concern. While our villa offers safety jackets for 2+ year old, Kids must never be left unsupervised. Our pool deck, dining and living area are all open toward pool and beach and it makes easy for parents to keep eyes on the little ones while they relax. We recommend you to have full time nanny service in case you have little ones that do not how to swim, to give you extra relief.

Please note Thailand is known for its medical services and Koh Samui also offers 2 quality hospitals in case anyone needs medical care.

Dining

With the in house chef, exclusive culinary experience can be designed upon guest's wish; improvised picnics on the beach, romantic dinner or a casual beach barbecue at sunset with local produce. Guest can also enjoy Thai cooking class in the villa.
Breakfast is inclusive and served with homemade artisan bread and jam. Our in-house chef is ready to prepare daily meal as you wish*. Please discuss with Villa Manager prior so that we can fully accommodate your needs.

Exclusive culinary experience can be also designed upon request such as picnics on the beach and casual barbecue. Our chef can hold private cooking class, as well. Please simply ask our Villa Manager.
