Overview

Set on a peaceful, private hillside amid pine and cork trees, Las Palomas opens to an expansive terrace overlooking the mountains and sea.

If you?re looking for peace and quiet it often means being a long way back from the coast, yet if you want to be where all the action is it can be difficult to get away from crowds and noise. Not so in El MadroÃ±al; this is one of the few locations that combines seclusion and tranquility with great access to the buzz and facilities of Marbella and Puerto BanÃºs.

Accommodation

The accommodation is on two floors: on the entrance level two double bedroom suites each have a private terrace with a shared sitting area and coffee station. Both bedrooms feature double beds that can be converted to twin beds if preferred. Also on this level are the office with a double sofa bed, a 4th loft bedroom (above the office) with super king or twin beds and a child?s bed and shower room.

On the lower level you will find the master suite, with super king extra length double bed, the open-plan living room, kitchen and family area, as well as a wine cellar, sitting room, guest cloakroom and access to the extensive south-facing terraces with a 13.5m x 3.5m south-facing infinity pool.

Steps lead from the pool deck down to the well-appointed games room ? a winning feature in any luxury Marbella rental villa. Villa Las Palomas offers closed garaging for 2/3 cars and off-street parking for four more.

Location

El MadroÃ±al is a 500 acre (200 hectare) estate in the hills behind San Pedro, and since the 1960s is the location of some of the best homes on the Costa del Sol.

By car, the lively little town of San Pedro is five minutes away, the glamorous marina of Puerto BanÃºs ten minutes and Marbella town 15. Seven prestigious golf courses are within ten minutes, and there?s a tennis club, skate park, trampoline centre and water ski lake in San Pedro. When you?re done on the coast, five minutes up the Ronda road takes you back to the pines and cork oak trees in the hills of El MadroÃ±al ? to relax in the luxury of Las Palomas.

Activities

Villa's manager will have a wealth of information about nearby places of interest and will help arrange transport and make any bookings required.

Nueva Andalucia is a well thought out and attractive area just west of Marbella.

The bullring on the right marks the entrance to Nueva Andalucia, while the road climbs towards the mountains affording magnificent views of the coast. On a clear day, you can even see North Africa off in the distance.

Sports enthusiasts can find plenty on offer here with tennis, paddle tennis and gymnasiums. For golfers in particular, the area could not be more ideal. There are several magnificent courses within virtual putting distance, including Las Brisas, Los Naranjos, Aloha Golf and Dama de Noche, which is floodlit for nighttime play. All the Nueva Andalucia golf courses are surrounded by stunning scenery with a backdrop of mountains.

Nueva AndalucÃa is also fast becoming known for its International Cuisine which ranges from a down home American deli to the ultimate in cordon bleu. It also boasts one of the most popular commercial centres in the area, Centro Plaza comprising quality shops, restaurants, bars and offices, as well as a supermarket, gymnasium and beauty parlour. In other words, this thriving commercial centre has everything that the consumer might want from taking care of the weekly shop, to buying unusual and exquisite gifts, including carpets, antiques, luxury toiletries and, not surprisingly perhaps, everything you may need for the golfer in the family. There is also an excellent street market (rastro) held next to the bullring here every Saturday morning.

It is also home to one the Costa del Sol's just two casinos, which boasts a vast gaming room as well as various other facilities.
