combination of the names of the owner' three children - reflects the

state-of-the-art Bose sound system plays music throughout the villa,
providing the perfect holiday playlist. Listen to some chill-out tunes
whilst luxuriating on loungers shaded by capacious umbrellas or relax in
the balé pavilion that hovers above the sparkling 15-metre swimming
pool. Parents with youngsters can rest easy as the villa is equipped
with a pool fence that can be erected to ensure the safety of little
ones. And should a break from the tropical heat be desired, guests can
slip indoors and savour the air-conditioned comfort of one of the many
spacious living areas.
Alfresco dining on the top terrace at
Villa Jamalu is an absolute treat: the villa's private gourmet chef will
prepare sumptuous meals which can be enjoyed at the twelve-seater
dining table, or provide canapés to graze upon whilst sipping cocktails
and lounging on the all-weather sofas as the sun sets magically over the
ocean with Bali?s sacred Mount Batu Karu providing a mystical backdrop.
Accommodation
Villa
Jamalu's three spacious storeys offer guests a profusion of settings to
suit every mood: a calm corner in which to relax and unwind, a place to
play, exercise, be entertained, or somewhere special to gather
socially.
The top floor of Villa Jamalu boasts truly panoramic
views over the Indian Ocean. This area acts as the main living area and
includes a spacious open-plan kitchen, indoor and outdoor dining and
lounge areas, and one of the master bedroom suites.
The focal
point of the ground floor is the stunning 15-metre saltwater swimming
pool and sunset Bale, which is bordered by three bedrooms and a light,
airy lounge and television room. The well-equipped playroom/study is
also on this floor.
The basement houses an air-conditioned games
and entertainment lounge, spa treatment room, yoga space and fabulously
equipped gym.
Bedrooms & Bathrooms
Master suites
Villa
Jamalu features two master suites: the first, located on the top floor,
enjoys panoramic ocean views while the second, positioned on the ground
floor, looks out onto the sparkling saltwater swimming pool. Both of
these stylish air-conditioned suites feature luxuriously canopied
king-size beds, iPod docking stations, televisions and DVD players. Both
opulent marble ensuites feature rain showers, while the lower suite has
the addition of a tub and the upper suite a jacuzzi bath.
Junior suites
The
two junior suites, located on the ground floor, boast large glass doors
which open directly to the pool deck. These light and spacious
air-conditioned rooms are beautifully appointed, featuring king-size
beds, iPod docking stations and marble ensuite bathrooms with rain
showers. Two trundle beds provide additional sleeping space for kids.

Indoor Living
Lounge roomsVilla Jamalu's three lounge and entertainment areas are all tastefully decorated and supremely comfortable, featuring state-of-the-art Bose sound systems.
The top floor lounge is light, spacious and airy. It is furnished with an L-shaped sofa and matching armchair and equipped with a 50-inch television and a DVD player. Making the most of the magnificent view, glass sliding doors run the length of this room and can be closed for air-conditioned comfort or opened to let the fresh sea breezes to flow through.
The ground floor living area, which overlooks the swimming pool, is furnished with a sofa, chaise longue and antique four-poster daybed, and is decorated in earth tones, blues and greens to reflect the beachside environment. Battle it out on the PlayStation, curl up with a magazine, or watch a movie while keeping an eye on the kids in the water.
The basement is home to a cozy and intimate entertainment lounge equipped with a full size American pool table, drinks fridge, sound system and ample seating for enjoying the television.
Kitchen and Dining Room
Situated up on the top floor of the villa, Jamalu's modern kitchen flaunts luscious shades of chocolate brown and is well-equipped to meet the needs of the gourmet chef: the fantastic array of crockery and cooking utensils, a double fridge, a wine fridge and Nespresso machine, all ensure that every meal at Villa Jamalu is a memorable one.
Adjacent to the kitchen, the twelve seater dining table is ideally located to either watch the chef in action or gaze out at the ocean vista.
Outdoor Living
The rooftop terrace, with its sweeping ocean views, is delightful at any time of day: enjoy an early morning breakfast accompanied by birdsong or, later in the day, relax with a crisp white wine and let the gentle sea breezes envelop you as you marvel at one of Bali's famously spectacular sunsets. At night, gather for a candle-lit meal at the alfresco dining table, which seats up to twelve diners in a convivial square.The 15 x 7-metre saltwater swimming pool forms the focal point of the villa's ground floor. Tiled in green stone, and deliciously deep, the pool is bordered by Palimanan stone and wooden decking and furnished with sun loungers and umbrellas. The most coveted poolside spot, the balé pavilion, offers comfort and shade. Parents need not worry about the little ones as a pool safety fence can be erected if required.

One
of the greatest advantages of staying in a villa is the personal
service provided by a dedicated team of professional staff. The team at
Villa Jamalu has been thoughtfully recruited according to their skills
and personality; many of them are part of the local village community
and have been working at Villa Jamalu since the day it opened.
The
aim of the staff is to look after every villa guest ? from toddler to
grandparent ? in true Balinese style. The villa manager and chef, in
particular, will be only too delighted to discuss your desires or
concerns and do what they can to guarantee a relaxed and enjoyable
holiday.
Villa manager
Villa manager, Milani, has
worked at Villa Jamalu since 2006 and is responsible for overall
operations including staffing, special requests and guest satisfaction.
Milani speaks excellent English.
Chef
Chef Komang has
been preparing delicious Asian and Western cuisine at Villa Jamalu since
2008. She is at the villa daily to prepare breakfast, lunch and dinner
and is very happy to accommodate special requests such as catering to
dietary needs or devising dinner party menus.
Villa Jamalu also provides: housekeepers, a gardener/pool attendant, 24hr security staff.

Located
on the slopes of the secure Temple Hill estate, Villa Jamalu is a few
minutes' walk (the staff will happily show you the shortcut) from the
tranquil waters and white sands of Jimbaran Bay, where the shallow sea
is ideal for swimming and paddling, and the perfect beach for families
with small children.
Once a quaint fishing village, Jimbaran is
now home to some of Bali's finest five star resorts such as the Four
Seasons, Ayana and Karma. It still retains much of its rustic charm,
however, and its bustling fish market supplies the whole island.
Jimbaran Bay is well known for its legendary beachside warungs, which
serve the freshest local seafood. The nearby Menega Café comes highly
recommended by Villa Jamalu's staff.
Padang Padang, Bingin and
Dreamland, some of the island's most famous surf breaks, are
twenty-minutes' drive to the south and the New Kuta Golf Course is just
fifteen minutes away by car.

Your
villa manager, Milani, and her team will have a wealth of information
about places of interest and can help arrange transport and make any
bookings required. Do also ask the staff about the area. Many live
nearby and can give an interesting insight into some of the fascinating
aspects of local Bali life.
In the meantime, here's a taste of some of the activities on offer within reach of Villa Jamalu.
- A visit to the eleventh century Uluwatu temple is an absolute must at sunset and make sure you take in a captivating performance of the traditional Kecak dance, which is held here every afternoon.
- Learn to surf at the nearby Padang Padang surf school. Their instructors are great with kids and beginners.
- Enjoy a sunset dinner at one of the many seafood warungs dotted along Jimbaran Bay and be serenaded by a band of strolling musicians.
- Play a round at the spectacular New Kuta Golf Course, with its stunning views over the Indian Ocean.
- Take the kids to Jengalla Ceramics and they can paint a plate whilst you do some homewares shopping.
- Indulge yourself at the Bamboo Spa by L'Occitane in Jimbaran.
- If you are a bold and brave bargain hunter, a spree within the heart of Bali's bustling provincial capital is an exciting and rewarding experience. Visit the vibrant Denpasar markets, where everything and anything is available.
- Covering 3.8 hectares of tropical parkland in Kuta, Waterbom Bali has 16 water slides (including The Climax with its 360 degree loop) to entertain the young and the young at heart. A great family day out, but go early to beat the crowds
- Get up to some monkey business at Bali Treetop Adventure Park (next to Lake Bratan). Five adventure circuits, with heights ranging from two to 20 metres, challenge all ages and skill levels on suspended bridges, spider nets, tarzan jumps and flying foxes.
- Fashionistas, trendies, shop-a-holics and foodies should hot-foot it down to Seminyak, Bali's most cosmopolitan enclave. Here, you can indulge for hours in the glut of stylish, chic boutiques and international restaurants and bars including, Potato Head Beach club, La Lucciola and Bali's infamously trendy Ku Dé Ta. For furniture, antiques and homeware stores go for a wander around the streets of nearby Kerobokan.

The family friendly advantages of a villa holiday are many and Villa Jamalu is an excellent villa for families of all ages. The team of friendly staff at Villa Jamalu will make children feel as welcome as adults, and staff will happily prepare meals for fussy eaters or babies in our well-equipped kitchen.Playroom/study
Kids and adults might find themselves fighting over one of the ground floor rooms, which serves the dual purpose of kid's playroom and study. Air-conditioned and furnished with a desk and an abundance of toys, it has views over the pool and access to a pretty tropical garden resplendent with bamboo, palm trees and a delightful shaded double daybed.
Dining
One of the highlights at Villa Jamalu is the dining experience. There's no better way to start the day than with Chef Komang's justifiably famous home-made Jamalu muesli, served with honey, yoghurt and fresh fruit. The kids will love her French toast with maple syrup, and for the health conscious there's the mixed berry smoothie. And whatever you do, don't miss out on her wickedly delicious Jamalu chocolate cake or her legendary mixed fruit pavlova. Delicious seafood BBQ's can be arranged, with the freshest local produce bought from the famous Jimbaran bay seafood market. Suggestion menus are available at the villa for breakfast, lunch and dinner, which include Indonesian, Balinese, Western and Japanese cuisine.All additional groceries and beverages are charged at cost price. Guests will be requested to provide grocery money in advance and the staff will do the shopping and keep receipts for reference.
Gym and Spa
Masage anyone? Just ask our staff to bring the spa to you! We can recommend deluxe treatments carried out in the privacy and comfort of your own dedicated spa room by fully trained therapists from a reputable local spa (extra charges will apply). Treatments include: Balinese Massage, Foot Reflexology and Body Scrub.Fancy a work out? The villa's well-appointed gym is cooled by both air-conditioning and fans, and features two spin bikes, weights, a lateral pull-down and leg-curl machine and Swiss balls. A TV and sound system deliver entertainment during workouts and a fridge provides refreshment. A yoga instructor can attend the villa on request to take you through the poses in the adjoining yoga space.
