the nearby Nirwana Bali Golf Course, or to explore Bali's beautiful
countryside and fascinating culture.
In 2015 our six-bedroom
sister property, Seseh Beach Villa II, will be completed. When rented
together, the two villas will offer 11 rooms with three swimming pools, a
gymnasium and an on-site spa, allowing for the largest of groups and
providing even more space for wonderful weddings and special events.
Accommodation
The
symmetrical villa comprises a main two-storey building, a flat lawn,
and a pair of open-sided thatched pavilions (one for dining and the
other for lounging) situated on either side of a 16.5-metre swimming
pool.
The main building comprises a living and dining room with
an integrated bar flanked on either side by two-storey wings containing
the five bedrooms and the kitchen. The two master bedrooms are situated
upstairs in each wing, both with balconies overlooking the sea. Accessed
via doors from the master bathrooms is a rooftop deck.
Bedrooms & Bathrooms
Master suites
The
two master suites are situated upstairs in separate wings, offering
spectacular sea views from their four-poster king-size beds and from
their breezy balconies, which are beautiful spots for relaxing in
private. Guests can enjoy satellite-channel TVs and DVD players,
walk-through dressing rooms, and air-conditioned bathrooms with an
indoor and an outdoor shower, as well as a rooftop soaking tub.
Guest bedrooms
Two
guestrooms lie at the front of the main building on the ground floor,
are furnished with king-size beds that convert to twins, and equipped
with satellite-channel TVs and DVD players. Glass doors slide open to
terraces overlooking the garden and pool while walk-through dressing
rooms lead to air-conditioned bathrooms fitted with a shower, and
courtyards with a bathtub and shower open to the sky.
With twin
beds that convert to a king, and a satellite-channel TV and DVD player,
the guest room to the rear of the ground floor is well suited for
children. The air-conditioned ensuite bathroom, fitted with a rain
shower, leads to a courtyard with a bathtub and another shower open to
the sky, as well as a secret outdoor sitting area. Even though this room
doesn't have a sea view, the sound of the waves is ever-present.
Living & Dining Areas
The
indoor living and dining room offers either air-conditioned comfort or a
fan-cooled tropical living experience with floor-to-ceiling glass doors
open to the garden. The spacious lounge is comfortably furnished with
sofas and a wall unit showcasing artefacts and supporting a 62-inch
flat-screen with satellite-channel TV, DVD, Xbox and Playstation. The
dining area has a beautiful wooden table for 12 lit by bell-jar
lanterns; next to this is a bar counter overhung with copper lanterns.
Situated
beside the swimming pool, the charming lounge pavilion is open sided
and furnished with water hyacinth sofas and coffee tables. A perfect
escape from the sun by day, and gently lit at night by bell-jar
lanterns, the room is equipped with ceiling fans and a large
satellite-channel TV, which sits behind sliding screen doors.
Paired
with the lounge pavilion but situated at the opposite end of the
swimming pool, the dining pavilion is furnished with a table for 12 and
offers a semi-alfresco dining experience which is truly magical at night
accompanied by sea breezes and the sight and sound of rolling waves.
Everything has been considered for the comfort of the guests with
ceiling fans, lanterns and two adjacent washrooms.
The rooftop
deck is the perfect place for a sunset cocktail. Accessed via the two
master bathrooms it can be enjoyed as a private space or shared with all
of the guests in the villa, with the provision of beanbags and sofas
and a low table under the open sky.
The 16.5 x 5-metre swimming
pool is bordered by a wide timber deck furnished with eight sunbeds
shaded by umbrellas. Within the pool, a sculpture flanked by fire bowls
looks beautiful after dark. The garden is planted with giant 'elephant
ear' taro leaves, and sweet-scented frangipani trees. Between the pool
and the main villa building is a wide flat lawn that makes the perfect
setting for weddings and events.

Location
Seseh
Beach Villa is located moments from the ocean in a traditional village
that has a very strong sense of community and still retains the customs
and culture of old Bali. There are no sophisticated facilities in the
area, so local activities are limited to walks on the beach (it's not
very safe for swimming), or gentle hikes through the glorious rice
fields. Alternatively, you can join in with some of the village
activities, watch the temple processions, or befriend the staff and get
invited to ceremonies. However, with the services of the villa's
complimentary car and driver, Bali's many cultural, natural, gastronomic
and retail delights are all within easy reach.

Activities
Seseh
Beach Villa's manager will have a wealth of information about nearby
places of interest and will help arrange extra transport or make any
bookings required. Do also ask the staff about the local area. Many of
them live nearby and will be able to give an interesting insight into
some of the fascinating aspects of Bali life.
In the meantime, here is a taste of the many and varied activities on offer within reach of the villa.
- The villa is close to the famous temple at Tanah Lot, although in peak season a few too many tourists may transform a sunset visit into more of a heaving photo opportunity than a moving experience. Visiting early in the morning (8-9am) provides a better idea of the power of the location and the chance to see it undisturbed apart from perhaps an offering ceremony.
- A nice sunset alternative is to head down to Echo Beach where a number of cafes offer good sunset views and cold beer. Note that the beach here is dark sand and the waters are better suited to surfing, having a pronounced swell and rip, rather than children's swimming. Hotel Tugu, a very stylish and eclectic boutique hotel a few minutes further down the coast is also a good sunset spot.
- Fashionistas, trendies and shop-a-holics should hot-foot it down to Seminyak, Bali's most cosmopolitan enclave. Here, you can indulge for hours in the glut of stylish, chic boutiques. There is a wide choice of fine dining, mid range, and cheap 'n cheerful restaurants in Seminyak too: fine dining venues include Sarong, the famous Ku Dé Ta, Mama San, La Lucciola, MerahPutih, Sardine and Métis.
- Play a round at the unbelievably scenic Nirwana Bali Golf Course. Bordered by ocean and rice fields and just down from Tanah Lot sea temple, no wonder this championship-standard course (designed by golf legend, Greg Norman) is frequently voted number one in Asia.
- Drive westwards to explore the charming Tabanan regency, revealing terraced rice fields of emerald green, volcanic mountains and black-sand beaches dotted with fishing communities. Or head north to explore the volcanic lakes near the mountain town of Bedugul, including Lake Bratan with its photogenic and stunningly positioned Pura Ulun Danu ? one of Bali's most important temples.
- Covering 3.8 hectares of tropical parkland in Kuta, Waterbom Bali has 16 water slides (including The Climax with its 360 degree loop) to entertain the young and the young at heart. A great family day out, but go early to beat the crowds.
- Bali Treetop Adventure Park is near the town of Bedugal in northern central Bali (next to Lake Bratan). Five adventure circuits, with heights ranging from two to 20 metres, challenge all level and ages on suspended bridges, spider nets, Tarzan jumps and 12 flying foxes.
- Explore the scenic rice-field landscape and rural villages; a great way to get under the skin of the 'real' Bali. Stop off at a local warung (café) to sample some basic Balinese fare or cool off with a cold drink.
Services included
Exclusive use of the villa and all its facilities, including the services of a villa manager, chef, housekeeping, and a car and driver for up to 8 hours a day.
Additional Notes
Families
The family friendly advantages of a villa holiday are many, including access to your own private facilities and the freedom to use them whenever you want. Knowing that the kids can run around happily, independently and safely, without you having to worry about other guests, is a real plus ? and one that means parents are certain to have a more relaxed holiday too.Seseh Beach Villa has been designed very much with children in mind. Three of the rooms have twin beds (convertible to kings if preferred), and two extra beds can be added (extra charge applies). Kids will love playing on the large lawn, being so near to the beach and having a Playstation, Xbox and Wii at hand.
The team of friendly staff will make children feel as welcome as adults, and having these willing helpers on hand gives guests plenty of flexibility and freedom to do their own exploring beyond the villa grounds (full-time babysitting incurs a small extra cost).
Although the equipped kitchen allows you to prepare meals for fussy eaters or babies with ease, staff will happily to do this for you ? just talk through your requirements and meal schedules with the villa manager or chef and they will take care of the rest. Pancakes by the pool for breakfast? Toasties for tea? No problem. The chef can customise all meals to suit children's taste buds.
Don't worry about packing all that cumbersome kids' equipment for your stay. Just let us know what you need, and anything we don't have in-house (villa facilities include a baby cot and highchair) we can hire on your behalf.
Dining
The villa's private chef is at your service to prepare daily breakfast, lunch and dinner. Dinner parties, functions, healthy foods, unique dietary requirements and special orders can all be catered for, and meals can be a simple affair, a poolside barbecue, or a grand banquet according to your whim. Vegetarian and children's dishes are also included on our suggestion menu. Many Western meals are available, but we recommend you to try some Indonesian and Balinese dishes for a true cultural experience. A stay is not complete without sampling the chef's pepes ikan (fish steamed in banana leaf), satay ayam (chicken satay on bamboo skewers) or pisang goreng (fried banana) with ice cream.
Groceries and beverages are charged at cost price plus 20%, (tax and service charge is applicable to the grocery mark-up only). Guests will be requested to provide grocery money in advance, and the staff will do the shopping and keep the receipts for reference. To make the most of the kitchen and give staff time to shop, it is a good idea to plan meals the evening before.
Spa
Feel like a body scrub or massage? Just ask our staff to bring the spa to you! We can recommend deluxe treatments carried out in the privacy of your room, or by the pool, by fully trained therapists from a reputable local spa (extra charges will apply). Here's a sample of what's on the menu:Massage
Release built up tension with a traditional Balinese massage. Using a combination of gentle stretches, acupressure and aromatherapy oils to stimulate the flow of blood, oxygen and energy around your body you will feel totally relaxed in no time.
Foot reflexology
Foot reflexology is a natural healing art based on the principle that there are reflexes in the feet which correspond to every part of the body. Through application of pressure on these reflexes tension is relieved and circulation improved leaving you feeling balanced.
Body scrub
A full body scrub will exfoliate and hydrate your skin leaving it soft and smooth. A rejuvenating scrub combines an abrasive material such as salt, coffee, rice bran or pecan hulls with essential oils to remove any impurities and make your skin glow.
Manicure/pedicure
Our hands and feet work hard for us every day but rarely get the attention they deserve. Treat them to a manicure or pedicure, which usually comes with the added bonus of a quick hand or foot massage.
Wedding
Wide ocean views and a large lawn together with first-class service and facilities make Seseh Beach Villa a great venue for weddings and other special celebrations. We can recommend expert event organisers, florists, decorators and caterers so you can focus on relaxing and celebrating with your guests.
